On the morning of July 30, the press conference of the 2024 China International Big Data Industry Expo (hereinafter referred to as the "Data Expo") was held at the Beijing Convention Center. Shen Zhulin, Deputy Director of the National Data Bureau, Cai Chaolin, Vice Governor of Guizhou Provincial People's Government, Ma Ningyu, Mayor of Guiyang Municipal People's Government, and Jing Yaping, Director of Guizhou Provincial Big Data Development Administration, attended the event to introduce the relevant situation of the 2024 Data Expo and answer questions from reporters. Wang Xudong, spokesperson of the National Data Bureau and director of the Comprehensive Department, presided over the press conference.
At the press conference, Shen Zhulin, deputy director of the National Data Bureau, introduced the relevant situation of this year's Data Expo, which will be hosted by the National Data Bureau and undertaken by the Guizhou Provincial People's Government, and will be held in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province from August 28 to 30.
In terms of the content of the conference, the theme of "high-quality development of the digital economy" will run throughout, and professional exhibitions will be held around six major sectors, including digital industrialization, industrial digitization, data valorization, digital governance, digital new infrastructure, and data security, and important guests from government, industry, academia and research will be invited to give keynote speeches, and a series of special activities such as industry exchanges, results release, and "data element ×" competition will also be held.
In terms of the release of results, the relevant state departments will focus on releasing a number of policies, including the latest industry research reports, technical specifications, typical cases, pilot tests, etc.; We will select a number of leading scientific and technological achievements, covering large models, data elements, data security, and cloud computing; In addition, participating companies will independently launch a number of new products, new technologies, new projects, and new scenarios, and we hope that more enterprises will participate in the process of marketization and valorization of data elements, and share more development opportunities and dividends together.
In terms of the mode of holding the conference, this year's Data Expo will give more prominence to market-oriented operation, with enterprises as the main body, and adopt the forms of attracting investment by business, by enterprise, and by conference, and by orienting the leading enterprises in the industry at home and abroad and large-scale big data enterprises to attract investment. At the same time, we will present a distinctive and fruitful event on the basis of efficient, thrifty, pragmatic and safe meetings.
Cai Chaolin, Vice Governor of Guizhou Provincial People's Government, introduced the characteristics of this year's Data Expo: First, it will highlight the diversity of exhibitions and comprehensively display the cutting-edge trends of digital innovation. We will promote international exhibitions, professional curation, and market-oriented exhibitions, build a 60,000-square-meter exhibition area with high standards, and set up six theme sections. Exhibitors include Huawei, Tencent, Alibaba, Baidu, China Electronics, CETC, the three major telecom operators, China Southern Power Grid, local Mafengwo and other well-known enterprises.
The second is to give more prominence to professional authority and create a vane that leads the development of big data. We will invite international industry organizations, national ministries and commissions, high-end think tanks, well-known enterprises, etc. to hold a series of supporting activities, release a number of policies, measures and innovative achievements in the field of data, and create a vane leading the development of big data. We invite global elites, business leaders, experts and scholars, government representatives and other guests to carry out industry exchanges around the cutting-edge hot spots in the field of big data, and provide a professional and authoritative exchange platform for industry elites.
The third is to give more prominence to the subjectivity of enterprises and let enterprises play the leading role on the stage of Data Expo. We carefully plan a series of characteristic activities to build bridges for "face-to-face" negotiation and exchange between enterprises, help enterprises build their own "special meetings", "special activities", "special performances", etc., to help domestic and foreign enterprises find business opportunities and promote more cooperation between government and enterprises, enterprises and banks. At present, well-known enterprises have been identified as the first organizer to hold industry exchange activities.
Fourth, we should give more prominence to the refinement of services and comprehensively improve the efficiency of holding meetings and the experience of participating in meetings. Guided by the needs of enterprises to participate in the exhibition, we will comprehensively improve the professional level of the Data Expo, and carefully do a good job in the service guarantee of exhibition hall facilities, venue affairs, transportation organization and so on. The Executive Committee of the conference has set up 9 working groups to formulate special plans for each event, effectively improve the quality and efficiency of the conference, and ensure that guests from all walks of life are provided with a first-class exhibition experience.
It is reported that the Data Expo was held for the first time in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province in 2015, and is the first large-scale international expo with data as the theme. In 2018 and 2019, General Secretary Xi Jinping sent congratulatory letters to the holding of the Data Expo for two consecutive years, providing a fundamental guide for the development of the data industry and pointing out the direction for the success of the Data Expo. This year is the 10th year that the Expo has been successfully held, and the Expo has carefully planned a series of activities of "Ten Years of Data Expo", including "Ten Years of Data Expo Achievement Exhibition", "Ten Years of Data Expo Retrospective Visit", "Ten Years of Data Expo Field Exploration" and other activities.
