In September 2019, the construction of the intelligent container terminal in Section C of Tianjin Port Beijiang Port began to be completed, and the process design, equipment selection and system planning of the entire terminal need to be completed within one year. In particular, in terms of information control systems, the latest technologies of 5G, autonomous driving, and big data management are all adopted from the design stage...... At that time, these fields were completely technical gaps, and there was no experience to draw on, which made the project technical team led by Li Qiang feel pressured.
At the critical moment, Li Qiang, as a member of the Communist Party, led the technical team to face the difficulties, and through repeated investigation, discussion and test verification, creatively proposed the automated container terminal 2.0 scheme of "automated single trolley quay crane + double cantilever rail crane (ARMG) + intelligent handling robot (ART)", and greatly improved the production efficiency of the automated container terminal by adopting the innovative production process of "yard parallel shoreline layout + side loading and unloading".
In October 2021, the world's first smart zero-carbon terminal, the intelligent container terminal in Section C of Tianjin Port's Beijiang Port Area, was officially put into operation. Backed by Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and facing the five continents of the world, Tianjin Port, which has been reopened for 72 years, has ushered in historic changes, and the transformation of traditional terminal operation mode has become an important part of it.
In October 2020, Li Qiang came to work at Tianjin Port Pacific International Container Terminal Co., Ltd. and led the technical team to open the innovation road of installing "smart brains" for traditional container terminals.
Because the wharf is located on an artificial island formed by blowing and filling, the uneven settlement of the yard is very serious, and the wharf adopts a conventional four-rope tire crane, and its automatic transformation and joint production have no successful cases in the whole industry.
Li Qiang led the Communist Party commando team to work gnawing "hard bones", and successfully broke through key technologies such as "automatic four-rope tire crane spreader anti-sway and anti-torsion", and the relevant technical achievements reached the international leading level.
Relying on the successful experience accumulated in the intelligent terminal in Section C of the Beijiang Port Area, Li Qiang led the technical team to realize the digital control of all elements and the whole process of terminal production and operation by integrating the five major production management systems of terminal dispatching and command, safety control, equipment operation, video inspection, and energy control, and equipped the digital transformation of the terminal with a "smart brain".
During the promotion of the zero-carbon transformation of Pacific International Company, Li Qiang creatively proposed the traditional terminal green development model of "green energy for self-consumption and electric upgrading of equipment and facilities", replacing "mains electricity" with "green electricity", and completely solving the constraints of green port construction from the energy supply side.

On June 22 this year, at the 2024 World Smart Industry Expo, Li Qiang, on behalf of Tianjin Port Group, and Huawei jointly released three digital transformation achievements: PortGPT1.0, the world's first fully liquid-cooled supercharging station for ports, and the White Paper on Port Digital Transformation, continuously consolidating Tianjin Port's leading edge in the global smart port construction track.
