Relevant experts: Once the force is taken over, it will inevitably face three major problems, and if it is not solved, it may pay a heavy price!
The strength of the People's Liberation Army is obvious to all, but why is it reluctant to do so?
The mainland's warships are several grades higher than Taiwan's, and United States does not dare to block them. What are the three major problems that the experts are talking about?
PLA VS Taiwanese Army
Taiwan's defense department once submitted a report on the comparison of cross-strait strength, which mainly mentioned that the capabilities of the PLA's navy, army, and air force are significantly superior to those of the Taiwan military, and said that this matter is well known to the whole world.
First of all, let's talk about the Air Force, the PLA is fully equipped, including J-20 fighters, Y-20 transport planes, J-10C fighters, etc., which are equipped with very sophisticated weapon systems.
Taiwan media also reported that the number of J-20s has spread across the five major theaters, with more than 300 aircraft. As a new generation of stealth fighters, this number is huge.
The Air Police-500, independently developed by the mainland, has a speed of more than 500 kilometers per hour and a maximum range of 5,700 kilometers. The later Air Police-500A is its upgraded version, equipped with digital radar technology.
This AWACS aircraft plays a huge role in the mainland's area denial system, monitoring the arrival of warships of other countries in advance.
UAVs also play a huge role in it, with UAVs such as Wuzhan 8 and Attack 11, and fighters such as J-20 and J-16 to win the first opportunity for the PLA.
The Taiwan military does not have these, and their fighters mainly include third-generation aircraft such as F-16, Mirage 2000 and IDF fighters. By the way, the fighters of the PLA have already entered the fifth generation.
And in terms of the army, it is needless to say more, otherwise in the previous war of liberation, the Kuomintang would not have fled to Taiwan in ashes. Today's Taiwan Army cannot be compared with the PLA.
The mainland's army armed forces are known as the "world's strongest army" and are divided into five major theaters, with a total number of about 700,000 people.
The major military regions have several group armies under their jurisdiction, and one group army is about 50,000. In these armies there are important brigades of reconnaissance, information, electronics, coastal defense, in addition to which there are powerful rocket units.
The main force of the major group armies is three kinds of composite brigades, including artillery, air defense and other combat systems. The armament includes 99A main battle tank, O4A tracked infantry fighting vehicle, etc.
The army is also equipped with digital technology systems, including an air assault brigade with several helicopters as well as transport aircraft.
In contrast, the Taiwanese army is really not enough, there are about 240,000 people, after all, the island can't fit so many people. And their army equipment, including tanks, armored vehicles, artillery and other old equipment, is really not very useful.
After talking about the Air Force, the Army, and the Navy, it may be even more incomparable.
The PLA ships have long been displayed near the island of Taiwan, perhaps Taiwan itself can see it.
The PLA has a huge aircraft carrier group, which includes nuclear submarines, attack ships, frigates, etc., which are armed with YJ-21 ultra-high-speed anti-ship missiles, etc.
In addition, the Shandong and Liaoning warships have also made appearances in recent exercises and are the main force of the mainland navy.
However, the Taiwan military has about 100 naval vessels, including destroyers, frigates, and frigates, and so on.
In comprehensive comparison, the Taiwan army is indeed inferior to the PLA, so why has the PLA not taken action for a long time? What's in here?
Difficulty 1+2: Landing, counter-encirclement
Let's assume that if the PLA wants to take over Taiwan by force, the first thing it will face is the issue of landing.
In order to block the landing of the People's Liberation Army, the Taiwan authorities have set up multiple layers of defense lines, and Tsai Ing-wen and Lai Qingde seem to have full confidence in them.
The first line of defense is the surrounding archipelago, which is a natural barrier. It has been learned that the Taiwan military has set up defense headquarters in Matsu and the Penghu Islands, and anti-ship missiles and anti-aircraft missiles have been deployed in these places.
But this does not work for the PLA. These things of the Taiwan army cannot be used at all, and the PLA's howitzers and rocket forces can directly bombard them with one shot.
The second line of defense is the main force of the defense of Taiwan, which is also the western part of the island. The Taiwan army relied on the defensive positions built by the beachheads, mountains, and other important terrain.
The Taiwan army's land, sea and air forces are also mainly concentrated in this area, with about 200,000 people, accounting for more than half of the Taiwan army's strength.
When Taiwan recently conducted the Han Kuang exercise, the Taiwan military dispatched "Clouded Leopard" armored vehicles and a number of tanks, presumably these will also appear.
In addition to the large number of troops, there are multiple fighter wings, including anti-aircraft missiles purchased from the United States and helicopter gunships, making them a solid defensive position.
And behind it there are also elite troops in the Lotus base. In this Han Kuang exercise, the F-16 fighter jets at the Hualien base took off in the rain just to meet Lai Qingde.
Putting aside Taiwan's riotous operation, the Hualien base is probably capable of equipping hundreds of such fighters, which shows that there is still hidden strength.
If the PLA lands and encounters the interception of these troops, it is very likely to suffer heavy losses without preparation.
Assuming that the PLA uses the Liaoning ship to break through all these defensive lines, how will the PLA maintain its superiority next? After all, the People's Liberation Army has come to an isolated island, what if it is accidentally surrounded?
In fact, after the PLA landing, the first thing that may come is the United States army. Previously, the United States had said that if the mainland took Taiwan by force, in order to protect Taiwan, they would send troops to support.
There was a previous survey about what countries around the world would do in the face of the mainland's military takeover. More than half of the countries are willing to lend a helping hand, which is nothing more than providing supplies, sending troops, etc.
And behind the United States, the biggest movement is Japan, Britain, Australia, etc., their warships dare to stay near the coast of the mainland, and what else does not dare.
Previously, United States also announced that it would drop drones to help the Taiwan military, plus the expected 200,000 troops, it was already participating in the war.
In addition, it has formed an alliance with several other countries and called on Japan and South Korea and other countries to send troops.
From Pelosi's visit to Taiwan to the current invitation of parliamentarians from 23 countries to Taiwan, all of them are obstructing the road to reunification of the mainland.
If the advance force of the People's Liberation Army arrives on Taiwan Island, and the US military forms a counter-encirclement with the Taiwan army, what should be done? Perhaps they can only fight alone like the Qiongya Column on Hainan Island, waiting for reinforcements to arrive.
The waiting process is long, and the losses are heavy.
Soaring difficulty: quagmire of street fighting
The People's Liberation Army (PLA) is trapped on the island of Taiwan and will inevitably get bogged down in street battles with the Taiwan military. And this is perhaps the best effect that United States wants.
Street fighting means fighting in the city, so where should the more than 20 million Taiwan people go? Is the PLA willing to share the same room with its compatriots?
According to the nature of the Taiwan authorities, these ordinary people are very likely to become victims, and they can also be said to be shields.
The mainland has always emphasized peaceful reunification, but it does not want the road to reunification to be full of bloody battles. However, the United States and Taiwan authorities do not think so.
Since Lai Qingde came to power, he has often made dangerous remarks, such as that the Taiwan military must be on alert around the clock, and even guard Taiwan 24 hours a day.
The style of "resisting reunification by force" has been vividly displayed, and the majority of the DPP members have the same idea as him.
During the Han Kuang exercise, the Taiwan military simulated a battle with the Shandong warship, which was to be ready for war with the mainland at any time.
In addition, there is one link that needs to be paid attention to in this exercise, that is, the Taiwan military has deployed its troops in major cities. Qiu Guozheng also explained that he hoped that the Taiwan army would be able to fight with the People's Liberation Army in the streets and fight guerrilla warfare in the mountains.
Earlier, Taiwan released a message saying that Taiwan's defense department would purchase hundreds of thousands of grenades from United States, plus its own production, a total of one million grenades. The Taiwan authorities claim that they are preparing for street fighting, and they don't know if it's true or not!
And the United States behind it, as early as after the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, wanted to pull the mainland into the quagmire of war, and even said that the mainland was the Russia arms manufacturer.
Now, seeing the mainland's firm stance on the Russia-Ukraine situation, it wants to start a war in the South China Sea and the Taiwan Strait to contain the mainland's development. If the PLA is really mired in the quagmire, the losses will be huge.
Therefore, under the consideration of many aspects, the mainland will not easily send troops, and it is entirely out of the security considerations of the people of the mainland and Taiwan.
However, if the Taiwan authorities still insist on going their own way, then the PLA is not a vegetarian, and there will always be times when they will regret it!
