The "Northwest" in this Northwest A&F University refers to Shaanxi Province. It's also very strange to say, there are really a lot of universities in Shaanxi Province with the word "Northwest", including Northwest University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Northwest University of Political Science and Law, etc. Among the 63 or so universities in the real northwest of Xinjiang, there is not a single one with the name "Northwest". There are two in Gansu Province, namely Northwest Normal University and Northwest University for Nationalities.
Shaanxi Province belongs to the central region of China, and for some reason, these universities in Shaanxi Province have the word "Northwest" in their names.
There are many famous universities in Shaanxi Province, mainly located in Xi'an. The protagonist of this time, Northwest A&F University, is not located in Xi'an City, but in Yangling District, which is nearly 200 miles away from Xi'an. And the administrative structure of Yangling District belongs to Xianyang City, so the relationship between Yangling and Xianyang is really unclear. After thinking about it, it is understandable that Northwest A&F University is not located in Xi'an City, but in Yangling.
