尝试宾利添越 S V8:改写豪华与运动法则的 SUV
An SUV that seems to stop time, with attention to detail and luxurious comfort, but thanks to its 550-horsepower V8 engine, it also offers driving pleasure and emotion
The privilege of enjoying an SUV like the Bentley Bentayga S V8 every day is reserved for a lucky and wealthy few customers of the United Kingdom manufacturer, and a wonderful week spent with the aristocratic sport utility vehicle made me fully understand this. I'm talking about the subtle and intrinsic pleasure of observing it up close, admiring the sheer quality of every nuance, finish, detail, getting on board and being surrounded by the aroma of high-quality leather that covers almost the entire interior. Mirror-polished and visible stitching, combined with classic furniture and high-tech accessories such as infotainment displays or carbon fiber panels, are almost ubiquitous, striking an almost unattainable balance between classic, contemporary, luxury and sporty. At least before the engine starts. So you enter another dimension, the high-performance mechanics that give life to the 550 twin-turbo V8 with 4000 horsepower and zero electric assistance. Here, cables and batteries are forbidden. But now I'm going to tell you about my experience with the SUV made by Crewe.
An impeccable instant classic
I didn't talk about style because it's a very personal topic. Like it or not, the Bentayga doesn't leave anyone indifferent when it comes to passing by. Whether you're on the Milan Ring Road, on the GRA in Rome, or on Avenue Princess Grace in Monte Carlo, it will attract attention because it won't go unnoticed, even in a less ornate color like Titan Gray (we used to call it Bronze Gray) "my" example, which, according to Bentley, is inspired by the hues of warships in the Royal Navy of United Kingdom. It will not go unnoticed, since it occupies a prominent place on the stage and, despite its size, its lines affect the airflow and aerodynamics, who cares about consumption......
Test drive Bentley Bentayga S V8: The full LED headlights are like crystal works of art sporty but not exaggerated, in the classic style updated for 2020, the interesting thing about the Bentayga is the design of the full LED headlights, which, if you look closely, look like works of art created by Venetian glass masters, located in the sporty front with XL grille and air intakes. And there's also nice wide, almost muscular fenders that actually embrace those big 22-inch wheels (from €3,825 optional) and all-black trim, which I found wisely arranged in the chrome position to simplify the silhouette, which would otherwise be a little too flashy for my taste (we know black is skinny...... )。 In short, the Bentayga S is not (and does not want to be) the latest generation of SUVs, it is one of those models that has efficiency and sportiness as the ultimate goal in the name of driving pleasure. He left this to others, first of all Italy and Germans. In short, it can suit one's taste or not, the design is a little outdated, but very snobbish and aristocratic, guys, that winged B on the hood can only be put up with another United Kingdom woman, but this is a theory to be confirmed......
Deep down, you feel like a king, or almost
If it attracts the attention of passers-by when viewed from the outside, the intimacy of the passenger cabin is a moment that only you and your travel companions can enjoy. I'm talking about welcoming you to the leather scent, which I also remember on the Bentayga PHEV I tried last year. The aroma stays with you as soon as you sit down and doesn't go away even after a few minutes of traveling. There seems to be an air freshener that smells of "fine leather". Obviously, it is the square meters of precious materials that cover almost all the useful spaces that enhance the old-fashioned feel of this fragrance, emphasizing the luxury of the past made entirely of natural materials. Maybe a little cheeky, today we are being educated about sustainability, about recycling and recyclable mulch. But let's face it, when it comes to luxury, there's no comparison. However, not only that, but the luxury of the Bentayga S can also be seen in other details.
Try the Bentley Bentayga S V8: Luxurious and technologically advanced interiorDo we still have room? For example, it goes without saying that the space on the car, which is 5.13 meters long, 2 meters wide, and has a wheelbase of 3 meters, is ample for everyone, to say the least. The five-seater solution is the most balanced in my opinion, but there are also seven-seaters or more "luxurious" four-seaters, with two electrically adjustable and air-conditioned sofas in the second row, separated by a multifunctional sofa in the middle. Cabinet. Coming back to the steering wheel, I love the panoramic view that comes with the height of the seat above the ground, from the digital dashboard in the foreground to the horizon in front, allowing me to keep an eye on everything that happens around me, including bikes and passers-by. Great for safety and traffic. All in all, there is absolutely no shortage of centimeters, and what convinces me the most is that at Bentley, they have recreated an extra luxurious environment with the right amount of high-tech. I focus on seats (armchairs) with electric adjustment, air conditioning and massage functions. These features are indispensable on this type of car and provide first-class comfort. There's also a multifunction display and a new 10.9-inch touchscreen for infotainment on the dashboard, in addition to buttons and wheels on the steering wheel and center tunnel to adjust the radio, climate control or driving mode. Everything is for a more "friendly" management while driving, without having to search for digital menus and submenus to perform banal operations.
Try the Bentley Bentayga S V8: the refined leather upholstery and contrasting stitching details make or break but I want to end with attention to detail, I would say obsession. For this Bentayga S, the configurator talks about the carbon fiber cover (€4,038) as well as the picnic table (€2,063), contrasting the "Mandarin by Mulliner" coloured stitching and piping (€3,575) and the sports pedals with the Bentley logo (€622). If talking about the price of a similar "item" doesn't seem appropriate, then it's just to give an idea of how precious its craft is, because it's a rare craft. The crack is no wider than the others, there is almost no squeaking, unique details such as a handle that regulates the airflow, an inevitable clock, and the hands are located in the center of the dashboard; These are the attention that Bentley customers want in their cars. I also enjoyed it for a few days. Do we want to find a classic banana peel that you can glide on? Well, I'm not quite convinced that some of the auxiliary controls, such as the control lever on the steering column, are clearly derived from Audi. Personally, I'd leave the work to Crewe Interiors to create something different and more original, but the upper echelons of the Volkswagen giant, to which Bentley belongs, also felt the economies of scale.

Evolving connectivity
However, a modern luxury SUV like the Bentayga S is inseparable from a cutting-edge technology package, and it doesn't disappoint in this regard. In addition to the 10.25-inch digital cockpit (also borrowed from Audi models) and the infotainment system display with gesture control, the Bentayga S V8 has all the connectivity features currently available on the top of the range. my 2024 comes with online navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB-C outlets, wireless smartphone charging, remote management of all in-car functions and services via an app, and the addition of a remote parking assist system on my 2024 that allows you to start and stop the engine and control the SUV with your phone. In particular, this example adds two rear infotainment screens worth 2,617 euros, as well as a dream Hi-Fi system worth 8,796 euros. But safety has also been improved, making the actions of all assistance systems for Level 2 semi-autonomous driving more effective. Many of the new assistive devices are displayed on the dashboard when they are put into service, which includes a new 3D representation of the road being driven. In practice, I found them to be a bit intrusive, especially with too much steering intervention to get the SUV back into the middle of the road. It is assumed that the software on more modern models operates in a more refined and pleasant way.

Comfort and exercise in the right dose
In terms of power, I firmly believe that the best way to appreciate the Bentayga S V8 is not only on the streets of Monte Carlo, in fact, it is at home because of its badge and attractiveness, and not because of its size and "mechatronics". I found that a beast like a United Kingdom SUV does not fit into the tight spaces and traffic of the very wealthy Principality of Principality of Monaco (or any other city). If anything, it can move between supercars and supercars without disfiguring them, making it truly the object of discovery of stylish cars loved by tourists. But between the photos that "steal" while walking and the selfies when parking, I think the best thing to do is to make the most of the 550 hp of its Granite 4.0 V8 twin-turbo engine, which is also helped by 770 Nm of torque. Maximum torque. An engine that doesn't need electricity to enjoy a 100% octane cocktail, with nothing but cables and columns...... Just starting the engine feels like stepping back in time (in a positive sense). The sporty exhaust pipe emits a dull and sinister grunt that doesn't quite match the image of the Bentayga, but is rock'n'roll vibes for audiophiles.
Try the Bentley Bentayga S V8: an SUV that can be silky and aggressive First, you need to know yourself, and then ...... Once you're on the road, there's no need to ask the SUV to be clear about what it's made of. Of course, I'm not looking for a thoroughbred athlete, that's too much to ask of him. However, I didn't have to do much to enjoy the driving pleasure unlike usual. In a sense, the Bentayga S is capable of dozing off in traffic and is a bit clumsy, but with the power of its V8 engine, it can sprint quickly or overtake slower cars. If you need to pull your nails out, you can play with some pretty good clowns. First of all, there is now an unknown conveying flow for small fractional engines. Since the torque remains constant in the range of 1,960 to 4,500 rpm, the engine pushes immediately without the need to shift gears. That is, almost the entire transmission range is covered by the maximum peak. It's a real pleasure to drive, the acceleration is strong, and the acceleration is not bad for an SUV with an empty weight of 2,416 kg. If your feet aren't heavy, the four-cylinder deactivation system is another trump card, which can be easily moved and consumes less.
Try the Bentley Bentayga S V8: An SUV worth more than €265,000 (including options) Driving Functional Technology Another trump card in the hands of Bentayga S is the chassis/steering/suspension, which is very well matched to the V8 engine. On the other hand, the construction platform is the same as that of the Audi Q7/Q8, the Porsche Cayenne and the Lamborghini Urus, in short, we are talking about the best of automotive engineering. But how does this technology translate? The electronic shock absorbers are equipped with air springs, active anti-roll bars, variable steering and a steered rear axle. The refined package means the comfortable ride you've come to expect, but can also be sportier if you prefer. The four driving modes (plus the same number of off-road modes, optional) in this sense help to improve passenger comfort or power on rough roads with specific settings, always staying within the range of XL size sports utility vehicles, adapting to the suspension, steering and accelerator to my liking. The active rear axle makes the SUV more stable or agile and can cope with fast trajectories or low-speed maneuvers. I remember that with steady hands and heavy feet, you could reach 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 290 km/h. This figure is more suitable for a supercar than a 4x4 of this size. Performance goes hand in hand with an effective and powerful braking system with carbon-ceramic discs (another option priced at 17,214 euros), albeit with a slightly sharper action. In fact, the first moment the reaction to the pedals was not very strong, while the second moment was more dynamic, capable of slowing down the Bentayga S V8 quickly and without showing signs of fatigue.
Try the Bentayga S V8: From the powerful sound of the sports exhaust pipes to the twin-turbo V8 consumes more or less...... A detailed analysis of the British SUV left me only with consumption considerations, and some surprises were retained. Out of a total of 765 km of driving range, the average fuel consumption is 15.8 l/100 km. Meets the values I expected. But I'll never get used to the city fuel consumption of around 30 l/100 km shown on the on-board computer, but the 10.7 l/100 km fuel consumption on the highway at 130 km/h (the engine dozes off at 1,800 rpm) makes up for it. Rotate speed. In my opinion, this is a good result.

Prices skyrocketed, but they paid off
Are we talking about price?
