Honda's E-Clutch technology enters the United States market
United States Honda Corporation has confirmed that Honda E-Clutch technology will be available to United States customers on the 2024 CB650R and CBR650R. The technology has previously been introduced in Europe. The Honda E-Clutch features technical and performance elements of the quick shifter, manual clutch, and Honda dual-clutch transmission technology.

The Honda E-Clutch manages clutch engagement and disengagement based on parameters read, including vehicle speed, throttle opening, engine rpm, shift pedal pressure, clutch motor reduction gear angle, engine countershaft speed, and gear. The clutch is operated through an actuator unit with two motors, located inside the right-hand bonnet. When the clutch engages or disengages, the engine's ignition timing and fuel injection are also controlled, resulting in smooth, shock-free shifts in all conditions.
