"The Stick of Youth, Building a Dream for the Future" 2024 Dongsen Cup • Cross-Strait (Liancheng) Youth Baseball Invitational Tournament and the 5th Cross-Strait (Liancheng) Youth Baseball Cultural Festival will be held tomorrow 6 in Liancheng, Fujian, Director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council Song Tao met with Taitung County Governor Rao Qingling, President of Eastern Sen Group and Chairman of Eastern Culture Foundation Wang Linglin and his entourage, and welcomed Taiwan young people to come to the mainland to take a look. Wang Linglin also said that the purpose of the "Dongsen Cup Cross-Strait (Liancheng) Youth Baseball Invitational Tournament" is to "meet friends with ball", which can help young people on both sides of the strait to get to know each other and exchange with each other, and will continue to hold such meaningful activities in the future to move forward towards the goal of cross-strait peace.
Song Tao, director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, met with Rao Qingling, mayor of Taitung County, and Wang Linglin, president of Dongsen Group and chairman of Dongsen Cultural Foundation. Taiwan guests attended the meeting including Taoyuan City Council Speaker Qiu Yisheng, Lanying Legislators Lu Yuling and Qiu Ruohua; On the mainland side, Yang Yi, director of the Liaison Bureau of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, Chen Binhua, director of the Propaganda Bureau, and Lin Wensheng, director of the Fujian Provincial Taiwan Affairs Office, attended the meeting.
Song Tao first pointed out that since then, the mainland has actively promoted cross-strait youth exchanges, come to the mainland to pursue dreams, build dreams, and realize dreams, and continue to create better conditions and more opportunities for young people on both sides of the strait to grow, become talents, and succeed.

Talking about this cross-strait baseball activity, Song Tao also said that this is a sport that compatriots on both sides of the strait like, and through baseball exchanges, we can enhance mutual understanding and emotional integration among young people on both sides of the strait, and at the same time demonstrate that the general trend of cross-strait exchanges and cooperation is unstoppable.
This year's "Dongsen Cup Cross-Strait (Liancheng) Youth Baseball Invitational Tournament (U12)" will be held in Liancheng, Fujian Province tomorrow 6, led by Wang Linglin, chairman of Dongsen Cultural Foundation, to lead the 100-member team of Taiwan 4 schools to launch an 8-day and 7-night baseball cultural exchange.
Wang Linglin first pointed out that thanks to the assistance of all sectors of the mainland side, the "Dongsen Cup Cross-Strait (Liancheng) Youth Baseball Invitational Match" will be held smoothly and successfully. This activity is very helpful for cross-strait cultural exchanges, enhancing mutual understanding among young people, and through sports exchanges, young people can learn from each other's skills, and "meeting friends with ball" is even more important.
"In the future, we will continue to promote such meaningful activities, not only to promote cross-strait exchanges, but also to pursue the goal of peaceful development on both sides of the strait," Wang said.

Rao Qingling also said that she was very happy to go to Liancheng with the Red Leaf Primary School baseball team to participate in the "Dongsen Cup" cross-strait baseball grand invitational tournament. Taitung is the original hometown of Taiwan's baseball, and the Red Leaf Primary School baseball team, which represented Taitung to participate in the game, is an important piece of the puzzle in the history of Taiwan's baseball, and the results in recent years have also been quite good.
Seizing the opportunity to return to his hometown for the third time to worship his ancestors, Rao Qingling pointed out, "I am a Hakka daughter from Wuping County, there are many villagers and elders in Wuping, and the cross-strait culture is of the same origin and belongs to the descendants of Yan and Huang, we adhere to the '92 consensus', oppose 'Taiwan independence', and know each other better, through more exchange activities, let us build a happy future for both sides of the strait together."
After the meeting, Rao Qingling and Qiu Yisheng, Speaker of the Taoyuan City Council, communicated with Huang Yong, President of the Fujian Hakka Research Association, and the President of the Hakka Association of Western Fujian.
