Mackintosh is the daughter of Greg · Mackintosh and former Canada Olympic swimming team Gil · Hoststed. Her older sister, Brooke, is a pair skater.
Mackintosh currently studies and trains in Sarasota, Florida, United States.
In the 200m butterfly and 400m individual medley before Paris 2024, Mackintosh had already won two gold medals for Canada and silver in the 400m freestyle.
"Sister Flying Fish" McIntosh won the gold medal in the women's 200m butterfly on the 1st with a speed of 2:03.03, setting a new Olympic record.
The previous record for the fastest women's 200m butterfly came at the last Tokyo Olympics and was won by China's Zhang Yufei in 2:03.86, who won a bronze medal.

On July 29, in the women's 400m individual medley, Mackintosh broke the record in 4:24.38 to win the gold medal. The last individual woman to set the women's 400m individual medley record was Hungary Hoszu · Katinka, which took place at the 2016 Olympic Games Brazil Rio de Janeiro. Katinka's time was 4:26.36.

McInto, who just broke Canada's Olympic history at La Défense Arena on Saturday, said: "I had a lot of people before me, they led my path, inspired me and I really owe them a lot. "I'm proud of what I've achieved for Canada."
Mackintosh, who has already won three Olympic medals this year, could break the Olympic record again in Sunday's medley relay.
"The personal project is over, so I can take a deep breath," she said. I'm probably going to start celebrating more after tomorrow's relay. I try to keep a low profile and not think about everything I've done.
"When I come back to Canada, I will have a lot of time to celebrate. When I get back, I'm going to invite a bunch of friends from Florida and Toronto to my cabin. I've been doing this every time for 10 years. I'm just excited to get back on Canada's soil. ”
Throughout the competition, the young swimmer showed composure and high concentration. When he won the award, Mackintosh wore another Canada flag over his shoulders. In between photo shoots, she also happily high-fived her fans along the pool.
Saturday's final was her 12th match in eight days.
"I'm proud of the way I've resumed and managed these events," McIntosh added. Today was definitely the toughest of the whole week, because I knew it was the eighth day of swimming.

Three years ago, when 14-year-old Mackintosh made her Olympic debut in Tokyo due to COVID restrictions, neither her parents, Jill and Greg, nor her sister Brooke, were able to accompany her.
