According to TheGamePost, this number is well below the player peaks in the three months following the release of The Witch Queen in 2022 and Lightfall in 2023. In a recent statement, Bungie mentioned concerns about the future of the Destiny franchise due to "recent changes" within the studio.

Bungie recently experienced mass layoffs that left 220 employees out of work, up from 100 in October.
