According to Zhang Guochao, the project manager of the second Sutong cross-river channel, the water survey is the foundation and key link of the construction of the second Sutong cross-river channel project, the survey operation is divided into two stages: preliminary survey and detailed survey, a total of 4 construction divisions, 49 boreholes and 16 in-situ test holes are arranged in the initial survey, and the survey project route crosses the Tongzhou Shaxi Waterway, Tongzhou Sha Shoal, the main channel of the Yangtze River and the Nantong joint inspection anchorage from south to north.
"Due to the complex navigation environment of the survey waters, the large scope of the survey and construction waters, and the frequent dynamic changes of the construction waters, its safety guarantee can be described as difficult. On the one hand, the operation area is close to the main channel of the Yangtze River and the production operation wharf, and the surrounding ships will encounter a very complex situation during the construction period, and the traffic organization is difficult; On the other hand, during the exploration on the Nantong side, the anchorage area will be occupied, and the anchorage waters will be significantly reduced, which will affect the normal port scheduling, and the pressure on water exploration and safety supervision will only increase. Since the start of exploration on May 24, Nantong Maritime Safety Bureau has given full play to its professional advantages, taken the initiative to provide front-line services, and made every effort to ensure the "two safety and two correctness" of survey and construction operations and the navigation of surrounding ships. Sutong second river crossing channel is a key engineering construction project in Jiangsu Province, starting from the main urban area of Nantong City, and finally 204 National Highway in Changshu City, Suzhou, with a total design length of about 43 kilometers, including 10.5 kilometers across the river, and its main channel bridge adopts the main span of 2300 meters suspension cable-stayed cooperation system scheme, which is currently the world's largest span bridge under research, with a large project scale and a world-class super project.
