Work together to protect the migration of migratory birds and jointly build a waterfowl corridor in the Bay Area

Gather in the wetland to go to the ecological covenant

On August 15, on the occasion of the second National Ecology Day, a breeding and release activity with the theme of "Protecting Migratory Birds and Building a Waterbird Corridor in the Bay Area" was carried out in the Nansha Wetland Scenic Area, aiming to protect the biodiversity of the Nansha Wetland with practical actions and provide a safer and healthier migration environment for migratory birds.

Proliferate and release water to inject new vitality

The breeding and release activity was carried out on the bird watching platform of Nansha wetland. On the day of the event, more than 40 volunteers from Nansha Wetland led more than 10 groups of parent-child families to take a cruise ship between the wetlands, telling the mysteries of wetland ecology, and their hearts were full of awe and love for nature. After arriving at the bird-watching platform, the wetland staff and volunteers introduced the types of fish fry and shrimp fry one by one, and distributed the fish fry to parent-child families and volunteer representatives.

Everyone participated in the breeding and release with great anticipation, and gently threw a tail of fish fry and shrimp fry into the water, as if injecting new vitality and hope into the wetland. The stocking of 70,000 fish fry and 1 million shrimp fry not only provides a rich source of food for migratory birds, but also plays an important role in improving the water quality of the wetland and maintaining biodiversity. This action is a vivid practice of harmonious coexistence between man and nature, and a positive contribution to the future ecological balance.

Ecological education, feel the beauty of wetlands

Subsequently, the micro-landscape production course of the Department of Wetland Ecology pushed the activity to a climax. Under the guidance of professional teachers and science popularization volunteers, the participants created exquisite wetland simulation ecological tanks by themselves, condensing the beauty of wetlands in every square inch. In this process, everyone not only learned the knowledge of wetland ecosystems, but also deeply realized the importance and fun of ecological protection.

The successful holding of the Nansha wetland enhancement and release activity is not only a demonstration and promotion of its own ecological protection work, but also an ecological education and mobilization for the whole society, calling on more people to join the ranks of ecological protection and jointly protect our beautiful home and ecological environment.
