On September 24, Honda released the mid-term improved 2025 X-ADV off-road pedals to the European market. The off-road pedal-style X-ADV was first unveiled in 2016 and officially launched in 2017, with the factory number of the first-generation model being 2BL-RC95 (Japan local version). By 2020, the factory released a second-generation model with factory number 8BL-RH10 (Japan local version), and went on sale the following year. At present, the official price of the current 2024 X-ADV in the domestic market is 129,800 yuan.
The new 2025 X-ADV is an upgrade from the second-generation model and features a water-cooled, four-stroke, horizontal, inline-two, SOHC four-valve SOHC engine from the NC750 platform, with a displacement of 745 cc and a dual balancer shaft design with a maximum power output of 43.1 kW. It is equipped with a Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) as standard. In terms of body, it adopts a steel tube frame, aluminum alloy swingarm, inverted fork with a fork core diameter of 41 mm, Pro-Link multi-link monotube rear shock, and 17-inch front and rear wheels.
In terms of electronic control, the TBW electronically controlled throttle offers four default riding modes, the HSTC traction control with full shut-off has three levels of adjustable intervention, and the system has been upgraded for smoother control.
The main changes in the new 2025 X-ADV compared to the previous version are as follows:
1. The power unit of the new car has not changed. The DCT dual clutch has been updated, and the operating parameters in the control system have been updated, through the application of new technology, the oil pressure in the piston chamber in the clutch can be predicted, and more parameters of the entire clutch can be fully sensed, instead of relying only on the oil pressure sensor located at the upper end of the clutch piston, more complete parameters make the control of the system more delicate, improve the response of the clutch, and provide consistent, fast and seamless shifting for any riding environment and at any speed;
2. The exterior styling of the new 2025 X-ADV was designed and developed by Honda's R&D team in Italy, with sharper lines and a more compact silhouette. a new dual-LED projection headlight cluster with integrated DRL daytime running lights and front curved lights;
3. The plastic shell components and front windshield of the whole car are produced from different renewable materials. For the first time, the bottom of the trunk/saddle is made from the same recycled materials as the bumper of a Honda car;
4. In terms of ergonomics, the saddle height of 820 mm (790 mm for the Chinese version and the Japan version in Asia) and the handlebar width of 940 mm are maintained to ensure the rider's high viewing angle and thus obtain better visibility. The interior of the saddle has been upgraded, with about 10% more polyurethane material filling to improve ride comfort;
5. New five-inch full-color TFT digital instrument panel;
6. In addition to the original electronic auxiliary control system, cruise control has also been added. The system is able to integrate smoothly with the DCT to provide a more comfortable experience for the rider. In addition, a large central tripod with a tilt sensor is also included as standard, so that the X-ADV does not have to worry about the vehicle tipping over, even when parked on a slope;
7. Other updates, including a revised adjustable front windshield for the interior and control structure (the rider can adjust the height of the front windshield in just three steps, compared to five steps in the previous version), new body graphics/decals, etc.
In addition to the standard car, a large number of OE mods/accessories for the 2025 X-ADV have been introduced to the European market. In order to make it easier for different customers, in addition to the different components that can be purchased separately, the factory also offers five kits for selection:
1. Highlight an off-road style, equipped with front fog lights, guards on both sides of the body, front side tubes, rear seat passenger off-road pedals and other components;
2. Highlight the multi-function of the vehicle, aiming to improve the comfort and convenience of riding, including a thickened saddle, side box, heated handlebar, etc.;
3. A Style Pack that uses a large number of aluminum and stainless steel components (footrests, side tripods, handlebar brackets, etc.) to enhance the metallic texture of the vehicle;
4. Travel Pack with side box, tail box, front pocket, etc., to increase the bearing capacity to improve the practicability of medium and long-distance riding;
5. Urban Pack, which uses components such as tail box and body guard to allow the vehicle to assume the role of a convenient daily commuting tool.
