This pharmacy is not only the first pharmacy chain in China jointly built by PetroChina and Yifeng Pharmacy, but also the first wholly-owned pharmacy operated by PetroChina, and marks the new appearance of gas station pharmacies in the petroleum and petrochemical field in Hunan Province.
The report pointed out that the new business model of "gas station + pharmacy" jointly created by the two parties aims to promote the transformation of traditional gas stations into diversified, all-round convenient comprehensive service stations, and provide the public with more professional drug consulting services and more intimate high-quality service experience.
In Guangdong Province, which is rich in pharmacy resources, PetroChina also cooperated with the well-known local brand "Kangze Pharmaceutical Chain" in February this year to open the first 24-hour convenience pharmacy to further expand the scope of services.
It is reported that after the gas station pharmacy is connected to the medical insurance system, the daily turnover is estimated to reach 5,000 to 6,000 yuan. The relevant person in charge said that with the solid brand foundation of Yifeng Pharmacy and the channel advantages of PetroChina, the business model of "gas station + pharmacy" has broad prospects and is full of potential.
Not only PetroChina, but also Sinopec have been involved in the field of pharmaceutical sales for several years. In 2014, Sinopec joined hands with Shanghai Fuxing Pharmacy to conduct a pilot business in Sinopec Shanghai Petroleum, covering more than 200 Class B OTC drugs. In August 2020, Hainan Yixintang's first pharmacy in cooperation with Sinopec was successfully opened.
In December 2019, the official website of China Post announced that the first store of China Post Pharmacy built by the Postal Branch of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region has been opened. In addition to Ningxia, China Post subsequently opened pharmacies in Beijing, Tianjin, Sichuan, Hebei, Jiangsu and other regions.
In particular, it is worth mentioning that in response to innovative business models such as "postal + pharmacy", the State Post Bureau has issued a clear statement to support the postal group to deepen medical and postal cooperation, operate pharmacies through the "postal +" cooperation model, and jointly create a unique new model of pharmaceutical chain retail.

However, with its wider coverage, especially in remote mountainous areas and rural areas, the postal system has a strong logistics and distribution system, and it is also an ideal partner for pharmacies in the field of e-commerce. It is foreseeable that with the vigorous development of the "pharmacy +" entity business, multi-party cooperation is bound to extend to the field of pharmaceutical e-commerce and open a new chapter.
The market generally believes that the number of domestic postal outlets and gas stations is large, widely distributed, and the market penetration is strong, and if local chain pharmacies can work together with them, it will undoubtedly greatly expand their market share. At the same time, post offices and gas stations are also facing an urgent need for "diversified" development, and the business cooperation between the two sides can achieve complementary advantages and win-win development.
With the influx of cross-border players from various industries, pharmacy operators are facing unprecedented challenges and pressures. In the face of profound changes in drug sales channels, many pharmacies have begun to re-examine themselves and adjust their development strategies, some focus on improving professional service levels, some are working hard in the field of chronic disease management, and some choose to carry out in-depth cooperation with cross-border players, striving to stand out in the fierce market competition.
