"Jiangxi is referred to as 'Gan' because of the Ganjiang River, the culture of Jiangxi is prosperous because of the Ganjiang River, and the towns in Jiangxi are also arising from the Ganjiang River. In this sense, the Ganjiang River can be hailed as the mother river of Jiangxi. We must be grateful to the Ganjiang River, protect the Ganjiang River, and develop and utilize the Ganjiang River. ”

During the two sessions of the National People's Congress, Zhu Hong, a deputy to the National People's Congress, said this in an exclusive interview with a reporter from the China News Network.

Zhu Hong was transferred to Jiangxi in 2010. For more than ten years, Zhu Hong has devoted great efforts to the revitalization and promotion of Jiangxi's culture and tourism industry. He walked non-stop throughout the north and south of the Ganjiang River in Jiangxi Province, and wrote wonderful articles on Ganpo without stopping. As an "imported old watch" who worked in Jiangxi from other places, he was deeply attracted by Jiangxi's beautiful natural scenery and long cultural history.

In recent years, Zhu Hong has written many books and articles on Jiangxi culture and tourism, such as "Flowing in Jiangxi", "The Peak of Culture in Jiangxi", "Jiangxi Tourism Strategy", "Opening the Book of Jiangxi", etc., vigorously disseminating Jiangxi culture, publicizing Jiangxi tourism, and serving the economic and social development of contemporary Jiangxi.

Ganjiang River, located on the south bank of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, is the largest river in Jiangxi Province, running through the province from south to north, connecting with the Yangtze River through Poyang Lake, is the main waterway of water transport in Jiangxi Province, and is also one of the four major water transport arteries in China, the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Earlier, Zhu Hong mentioned in one of his articles "Ganshui Reverie" that examining the Ganjiang River again and studying the Ganjiang River can find out the history of jiangxi's rise and fall and find the code for Jiangxi's efforts to be strong.

Zhu Hong said that in history, from the Middle Tang Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty, the "Canal -Yangtze River-Ganjiang-Pearl River" has always been the main north-south passage in China. People from other provinces came to Jiangxi through the Ganjiang River, and they brought advanced production tools, means of production and advanced civilization achievements in the Central Plains, which played an important role in promoting the economic development of Jiangxi.

At the same time, a large number of knowledgeable and talented Jiangxi talents walked out of Jiangxi along the Ganjiang River and made great contributions to the process of prospering Chinese civilization. Later, by the end of the Ming Dynasty and the late Qing Dynasty, due to the rise of maritime, railway, aviation and other transportation, the Ganjiang River as a transportation artery has declined day by day.

The long-standing Yangtze River, Poyang Lake and Ganjiang River have created the splendor of Jiangxi's major water transport province and constituted the golden waterway of Ganpo in China's thousand-year-old north-south direction. Zhu Hong said: In the face of the Ganjiang River, we must first learn to be grateful. Grateful Ganjiang gave birth to the prosperity of Jiangxi's humanities, and grateful Ganjiang brought a glorious history to Jiangxi.

Second, Zhu Hong believes that it is necessary to protect the Ganjiang River. Green is Jiangxi's greatest wealth, biggest advantage and biggest brand. The Ganjiang River is 766 kilometers long, and the basin area involves 44 counties (cities, districts) under the jurisdiction of Ganzhou, Ji'an, Pingxiang, Yichun, Xinyu and other cities in Jiangxi, covering an area of 83,500 square kilometers, accounting for 51.5% of the basin area of Poyang Lake.

Zhu Hong pointed out that although the ecological environment of the Ganjiang River Basin is generally good, there are also environmental protection problems to varying degrees in a few places. In the next step, we should take the implementation of the Yangtze River Protection Law as an opportunity to adhere to the ecological priority and green development, and form a joint force of the people's congress, government, court, procuratorate and other departments to continue to deepen the supervision activities such as the "environmental protection Ganjiang River Tour", and jointly grasp the great protection and not engage in large-scale development.

In addition to protecting the Ganjiang River, Zhu Hong believes that it is also necessary to develop and make good use of the Ganjiang River. Compared with road, railway and air transport, waterways have natural advantages such as low cost and large transportation volume. The total amount of water resources in Jiangxi Province ranks 6th in the country, the total length of water transport channels is 5716 kilometers, but the high-grade waterway is only 688 kilometers, the port terminal capacity along the Ganjiang And Xinjiang Rivers is seriously insufficient, a large number of wharf projects urgently need to be built, and the collection and transportation system needs to be improved.

Zhu Hong said: During the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" period, Jiangxi's economic and social development should readjust its investment structure, reduce the proportion of investment in expressways, increase the proportion of investment in waterways, high-speed railways, and aircraft transportation, focus on promoting the construction of a "two horizontal and one vertical" high-grade waterway network, speed up the construction and management of the Gansu-Guangdong Canal, and revitalize the golden waterway of Ganpo in the millennium.
