Li Peng, a 2,000 graduate of the school and now a project supervisor, has been paying attention to the construction dynamics of the school when he learned that Yulong Primary School was on the list of new renovation and expansion. "Visiting the new school in advance is particularly meaningful." Standing at the edge of the playground, Li Peng recalled: "As long as it doesn't rain, we all go out for morning exercises at dawn." Every day after school, teachers stand hand in hand in the middle of the road to form two 'human walls' to block the traffic flow and let students cross the road. I spent 6 years of elementary school under the escort of my teachers. Li Peng recalled that the class teacher Xu Yuwen always watched the last student cross the street before leaving.
Wing On Tong Primary School was built in 1950 and renamed Yulong Primary School in 2019. Principal Li Mingfang said that the three generations of this family have witnessed the changes of the school for more than 70 years, and their study story is also a microcosm of the era of education development in Wuhan.
