According to the plan, the project will complete the construction of 10 cross-line bridges on the whole line within the year, at present, 7 of which have been completed and opened to traffic, and the construction of the remaining 3 cross-line bridges is also nearing completion.

The G105 National Highway, which runs through the north and south of Zhongshan, is the oldest modern trunk highway in Zhongshan, which has once driven the economic prosperity of Zhongshan Professional Town. Over the past few decades, after some line adjustments and many reconstructions, the G105 Zhongshan section has been responsible for the important traffic functions of connecting the north and south of Zhongshan and connecting the Guangfo zhu outside. In the second half of 2019, with the start of the reconstruction project of the southern section of the G105, this north-south artery ushered in another opportunity for butterfly change. With the advancement of the interchange transformation, the "intestinal obstruction" along the line will be further dredged, and the aorta is re-energizing.

Cross the four town streets to open up ten sections of "obstruction"

At 6:30 p.m. on September 30, adjacent to the Panfu entrance and exit of the Guangzhu West Line, another brand-new cross-line bridge on the G105 line of the National Highway - the Guangzhu West (Banfu Entrance) Cross-line Bridge was officially opened to traffic.

In the past morning and evening traffic peak period, the national highway transit vehicles and the upper and lower national highway diversion vehicles need to wait for traffic lights at this intersection, and now the traffic scene here has been very different, transit vehicles crossing the traffic lights of the ground road directly from the cross-line bridge, the ground traffic pressure is also decomposed at the same time, the upper and lower two layers of traffic are parallel, and the traffic efficiency is greatly improved.

Thanks to the completion and opening of the Guangzhu West (Banfu Entrance) cross-line bridge, the high-speed vehicles on the G105 National Highway here have also saved a lot of time than before.

The reconstruction project of the southern section of national highway G105 starts from the Shalang interchange and ends at the junction of Guhe Village and Zhuhai in Sanxiang Town, with a total length of about 32km, passing through the five town streets of West District, Shaxi District, South District, Panfu and Sanxiang. The project adopts the technical standard of first-class highway, taking into account the function of urban expressway, and the whole line is transformed from two-way 6 lanes to two-way 8 lanes, and the construction goal of 10 cross-line bridges will be completed within this year.

Along the G105 southern section, Panfu is the town with the most new cross-line bridges, and a total of 5 cross-line bridges are planned to be built, including the Middle Ring Road Cross-line Bridge, the Yingbin Avenue Cross-Line Bridge, the Panfu Avenue Cross-Line Bridge, the Industrial Avenue Cross-Line Bridge and the Guangzhou-Zhuhai West Cross-Line Bridge. At present, except for the construction of the Industrial Avenue cross-line bridge, which is still in the process of being completed, the remaining four have been completed and opened to traffic.

Within the jurisdiction of Sanxiang Township, a total of 4 cross-line bridges have also been planned: Xingtang Interchange Bridge, Jingu Avenue Cross-line Bridge, Sanxiang Flower Bed Cross-line Bridge, and Ancient Crane Flower Bed Cross-line Bridge.

Sanxiang Town Huatan Junction, is the G105 National Highway from Zhongshan District to Sanxiang Town must pass through, the surrounding community is densely populated, there are many public service agencies, is the G105 south section of the line in the traffic flow of the largest traffic, the busiest traffic section of the road. The Sanxiang Flower Bed Span Bridge, which spans both the Sanxiang Flower Bed Junction and the Nanlong Road intersection, has a total length of 1,032 meters, making it the longest span bridge in the G105 Southern Section Reconstruction Project.

In the autumn of October, the construction of the Sanxiang Flower Bed Cross-line Bridge located here has also entered the final stage of attacking the stronghold. Ding Yansong, project manager of the reconstruction project of the G105 National Highway from Shalang to Guhe section of the 15th Bureau of China Railway, introduced that at present, the erection of all the beams of the Sanxiang Flower Bed Bridge has been completed, the amount of cast-in-place box girder has also exceeded half, and the construction of the bridge deck system is also in full swing. The project construction has been completed by 85% of the total number of projects, and it is expected that it will be completed and opened to traffic on time before the end of the year. At that time, vehicles transiting through sanxiang can quickly travel to Zhuhai and Macao through this cross-line bridge.

The industrial channel is getting wider and wider

Every morning, trucks loaded with production raw materials drive into the factory gate of Yangzijing Ink (Zhongshan) Co., Ltd., while trucks full of goods also drive out one after another, transporting dozens of tons of finished ink from here to the surrounding Pearl River Delta cities.

Bauhinia Ink (Zhongshan) Co., Ltd., located in Shunjing Industrial Zone, Panfu Town, mainly engaged in the production of gravure ink, lithograph offset ink, silk screen ink, etc., after more than ten years of development, it is currently in the leading position in the domestic ink industry. The company is adjacent to the intersection of the Panfu entrance and exit of the Guangzhu West Line and the G105 National Highway, and the significant traffic location advantage has become an important guarantee for the company's rapid development.

However, with the continuous increase of traffic flow, the traffic efficiency of G105 national highway has also begun to be reduced, and the traffic location advantage on which enterprises rely for development has weakened.

"The industrial areas on both sides of the G105 national highway are relatively dense, and the distribution of enterprises is relatively concentrated. There are many traffic lights on national highways, many cars, and many intersections, which leads to frequent traffic jams during the morning and evening rush hours, which invisibly directly affects the efficiency of the flow of materials and personnel of enterprises. Zhang Zhiyun, assistant general manager of Yangzijing Ink (Zhongshan) Co., Ltd., introduced that the company's employees are mainly distributed in Zhongshan and Zhuhai, and the company's production of raw materials and products are currently mainly distributed through the Pearl River Delta cities to all parts of the country, so the Guangzhou-Zhuhai West Line Expressway and G105 National Highway have become an important channel for employee commuting and material product logistics. However, the slowdown in traffic has led to "slow entry and slow exit", laying hidden worries for the development of enterprises.

The intersection of the Panfu entrance and exit of the Guangzhu West Line and the G105 National Highway is a necessary place for the daily flow of people and logistics of Yangzi Bauhinia Ink (Zhongshan) Co., Ltd. The completion and opening of the new cross-line bridge is undoubtedly an important benefit for this enterprise. G105 National Highway is the earliest economic corridor in Zhongshan that runs through the north and south, and for decades, this artery has played a non-negligible role in the economic and social development of Panfu Town.

At present, Panfu Town is the location of the municipal industrial platform - Zhongshan Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment Industrial Park, and is also an important part of Zhongshan Science City, a major industrial platform in Zhongshan, where strategic emerging industries are developing rapidly. The G105 southern reconstruction project will build 5 new cross-line bridges in Banfu, which will greatly accelerate the construction of Banfu transportation, strengthen the transportation connection between Banfu and the towns and streets of Zhongshan and even the cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, create a wide new channel for industrial economic development, and help Banfu move rapidly towards the goal of high-quality development.

Looking at a broader space, the G105 southern section reconstruction project is also injecting new vitality into the development of the area along the route.

Zheng Qianna, secretary general of the Sanxiang Federation of Industry and Commerce (Chamber of Commerce), said that the implementation of the G105 National Highway South Line Reconstruction Project has promoted a new round of improvement in the construction level of transportation infrastructure along the towns and streets along the line, including Sanxiang, and the "pain points" of township traffic with narrow cars and frequent congestion will be greatly alleviated, providing a better transportation environment for citizens' lives and enterprise development, and also opening up new space for the development of the township's industrial economy.

Old trunk, new express!

The G105 National Highway, which starts in Beijing and ends in the Macao Special Administrative Region, covers a total distance of 2,717 kilometers and passes through 8 provincial-level administrative regions including Guangdong. On this national-level north-south main road, the history of the section from Zhongshan District to Zhuhai can be traced back to the Qiguan Highway more than 90 years ago.

In the old days, Zhongshan (Xiangshan) traffic was very closed, in the early days of the Republic of China, the wind of private highways in Guangdong rose, and in 1927, Zheng Zhixiang and others initiated the construction of the Qiguan Highway. The Qiguan Highway is divided into two lines, east and west, winding on both sides of Wugui Mountain, of which the western line from Xiaojia Village to Shiqi via Sanxiang and Banfu was completed and opened to traffic in 1936. In April 1981, the Western Route was listed as a national highway and became part of the G105 national highway.

In the following decades, some sections of the G105 Zhongshan section have undergone many line adjustments and reconstructions, and the lines have been continuously optimized, which effectively meets the demand for transportation for the rapid economic and social development in the early stage of Zhongshan's reform and opening up, drives the rapid development of the town street economy along the line, and becomes an important booster for the economic development of zhongshan's traditional professional towns. According to statistics, by around 2011, the GDP and tax revenue of towns and districts along the G105 national highway have accounted for about 30% of the city's total.

However, with the rapid development of economy and society, regional transportation demand is also increasing day by day, and the G105 national highway, which has old facilities and relatively lagging specifications, has become an unfavorable factor restricting the economic and social development along the route.

In 2011, the construction of the full intersection interchange reconstruction project of the shalang to Dongfeng Xiaojiao Bridge section of the west district of the G105 national highway (referred to as the "G105 national highway north section reconstruction project") was started, and the reconstruction project of the whole line was completed on October 30, 2014.

The northern section was rebuilt, forming an immediate effect. While the road surface along the line is widened, the interchange transformation of each intersection allows transit vehicles to cross the ground traffic lights, achieve barrier-free passage, and greatly improve traffic efficiency.

In the second half of 2019, the reconstruction project of the southern section of G105 National Highway officially started. In addition to the transformation of the entire line from two-way 6 lanes to two-way 8 lanes, the project also built 10 new cross-line bridges, including Shalang Interchange Bridge, Middle Ring Road Cross-Line Bridge, Yingbin Avenue Cross-Line Bridge, Panfu Avenue Cross-line Bridge, Industrial Avenue Cross-line Bridge, Guangzhou-Zhuhai West Cross-Line Bridge, Xingtang Interchange Bridge, Jingu Avenue Cross-line Bridge, Sanxiang Flower Bed Cross-line Bridge, and Guhe Flower Bed Cross-line Bridge.

At present, 6 of the cross-line bridges have been completed and opened to traffic, and the industrial avenue cross-line bridge in Panfu Town and the ancient crane flower bed cross-line bridge, Xingtang overpass bridge and Sanxiang flower bed cross-line bridge in Sanxiang Town are still under intense construction. The Industrial Avenue Cross-Line Bridge is undergoing guardrail construction and is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic by November 15; the Guhe Flower Bed Cross-Line Bridge is undergoing guardrail construction and is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic by October 31; the Sanxiang Flower Bed Cross-line Bridge is undergoing diversion construction and is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic on November 30; and the Xingtang Cross-line Bridge is undergoing retaining wall construction and is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic by December 31.

Zeng Weizhan said that the G105 national highway passes through many important industrial towns in Zhongshan and has played a very important role as an economic channel. Even today, there is more than one G105 national highway running through the southern and northern parts of Zhongshan, but this old national highway still plays a very important role. At present, the average daily traffic flow of the northern section of the Zhongshan section of G105 National Highway has already exceeded 100,000 times, and the average daily traffic flow of the southern section has also approached 100,000 times.

The successive implementation of the reconstruction projects of the northern and southern sections has comprehensively tapped the traffic capacity of this old trunk highway, which has greatly promoted the rapid progress of the Zhongshan section of the G105 national highway. This old national highway is rapidly changing and has become an important new express line in Zhongshan's trunk road network, supporting the future high-quality development of Zhongshan's township economy.
