According to Guo Jianhui, president of the Yuhuan Automobile and Motorcycle Parts Industry Association, Kanmen's automobile and motorcycle parts industry started in the 1970s and has now developed into more than 5,000 products in 37 series, including high-strength fasteners, transmission mechanisms, pumps, hydraulic series, shock absorbers, valves, and starting motors.
"At present, there are more than 1,700 auto and motorcycle parts manufacturers in Yuhuan City, with an annual output value of 54 billion yuan, of which there are 1,050 in Kanmen, with an annual output value of more than 30 billion yuan." Guo Jianhui said that in the Kanmen Science and Technology Industrial Park, due to the formation of industrial clusters, production service industries related to parts manufacturing, such as surveying and mapping, equipment manufacturing, sample design, etc., came into being, providing low-cost services for the production and operation of local enterprises.
With the rapid rise of the new energy vehicle market, spare parts for new energy vehicles have also risen in Kanmen. "In order to seize the new energy vehicle market, the company has developed and produced a new energy vehicle transmission output shaft, hoping to open up the new energy vehicle spare parts market as a breakthrough." In the next 5 to 10 years, the company can develop more than 30 new products and projects of various sizes every year. Huang Wenda said.
With the extension of the industrial chain of auto and motorcycle parts products, more and more high-end elements are further concentrated in Kanmen. "Yuhuan City currently has a number of public service platforms such as Zhejiang Branch of China Automotive Engineering Research Institute, Yuhuan University Joint Research Institute, and National Automobile and Parts Export Base Information, which provide strong technical support for product development and industrial upgrading." Guo Jianhui said that in the future, the Canmen auto and motorcycle parts industry will be modular, electrified and intelligent.
