It has been several years since former South Korean President Park Geun-hye was arrested and imprisoned, and according to the final ruling of south Korea's Supreme Court on January 14, 2021, Park Geun-hye has to serve a cumulative 22-year sentence, and without special circumstances such as amnesty and parole, Park Geun-hye will be released from prison at the age of 89 in 2039 at the latest.
However, Park Geun-hye's prison life is not "calm" at all, according to previous reports, Park Geun-hye's supporters have insisted on shouting slogans outside the detention center every day since she was held in the detention center, and some Park Geun-hye's fellow inmates said that they were "woken up" by the slogans of Park Geun-hye's supporters every day.
So, what kind of life does Park Geun-hye live in prison?

a "girlfriend interference case", and the former president became a prisoner of the order

As the 18th president of South Korea, Park Geun-hye has indeed not escaped the "curse" of the South Korean president, how beautiful park geun-hye became the first female president in South Korean history in 2012 and the first president elected with more than half of the support in South Korean history, and how depressed Park Geun-hye was impeached in 2017 for "girlfriends in politics".
After the assassination of Park Chung-hee, the heartbroken Park Geun-hye withdrew from South Korean politics until 1997, when she re-entered politics and returned to people's attention.
In 2012, Park Geun-hye won the support of voters with the slogan "Marry the Woman of the Country" and was successfully elected president, and all walks of life in South Korea were expecting her to really realize the so-called "Three-Year Plan for Economic Innovation" and create a "new Korea".
However, the 2014 "Sewol" shipwreck accident tore a gap in Park Geun-hye's "perfect" image, and the possibility of the president being involved with "cults" made the South Korean people seem to see a completely different Park Geun-hye.
On April 16, 2014, after the Sewol, which was full of middle school students, overturned and sank in the southwest waters of South Korea, killing 293 people and missing 11 people, President Park Geun-hye "bizarrely" disappeared for seven hours.
What is even more excessive is that when the president arrived at the scene late, he actually claimed to be the "sacrifice" of the students who were killed, creating an opportunity for the Republic of Korea to be "reborn".
Combined with the fact that it was the day of the Immortal Sect leader Choi Tae-min's claim to be the day of his 20-year resurrection, the angry South Korean people immediately linked the matter to the cult 'sacrifice', and Park Geun-hye's approval rating almost "fell in response".
In order to save the support rate, Park Geun-hye chose to "exchange benefits" with the United States, and deployed the THAAD system in South Korea, which attracted strong opposition from China and North Korea, and a series of policies introduced by China at that time led to the rapid flight of foreign capital in South Korea, and the South Korean economy was on the verge of collapse.
In October 2016, the information in the old computer of Park Geun-hye's girlfriend Choi Soon-sil was restored, and a large number of documents involving South Korean state secrets and Park Geun-hye's public speeches in the computer made the "girlfriend dry government" incident surfaced, which caused a huge impact on the entire Korean society, and the South Korean media bluntly said that Choi Soon-sil was a "shadow president".
As a result of the Shipwreck of the Sewol and the girlfriend the government incident, Park Geun-hye was finally impeached and suspended from the presidency on December 9, 2016; on March 10, 2017, the Constitutional Court of South Korea ordered the immediate removal of Park Geun-hye from the presidency, and Park Geun-hye won another first, that is, the first president in South Korean history to be successfully impeached.
Park Geun-hye, who lost her "president's criminal immunity" after stepping down, faces multiple criminal charges.

detention center life: "woken up" every day by the slogan of supporters

On March 31, 2017, a South Korean court approved the arrest of Park Geun-hye. According to South Korean media reports, around 3:05 local time, Park Geun-hye received an arrest warrant issued by the court. After that, Park Geun-hye did not say a word, but went to the bathroom to remove the hairpin used for the disc hair and removed all the makeup she had made before.
Allegedly, this is because Park Geun-hye knew that hair clips or cosmetics could be "confiscated" after entering the detention center, so she "prepared" in advance.
At about 4:45 a.m., Park Geun-hye arrived in a black car at the Seoul Detention Center in Uiwang, Gyeonggi.- By this time, there were already about 50 Park Geun-hye supporters waiting there, waving flags and demanding her release.
But these actions did not work, and Park Geun-hye was still imprisoned in the Seoul Detention Center.
According to relevant information, Park Geun-hye has only one "privilege" after entering the detention center, that is, the "single room" where she is located is larger than others: the cell where Park Geun-hye is held is about 12 square meters, and this cell was originally intended for 6-7 people to use together.
So what does Park Geun-hye's prison life look like? South Korean media once interviewed a woman who was also released from the Seoul detention center, unveiling the "mystery" of her prison life.
The woman told the media that Park Geun-hye lives in a single room and never participates in the detention center's "wind release campaign", does not bathe in public areas, and does not participate in weekly "prison activities", but everyone in the Seoul detention center knows that Park Geun-hye is here.
More "outrageously" is that Park Geun-hye's supporters go outside the Seoul Detention Center every day to shout slogans. According to media reports, every day at about 5:50 a.m., Park Geun-hye's supporters would gather outside the Seoul Detention Center and chant slogans such as "President Park Geun-hye, how are you?" and "Good morning."
According to the woman, although the women's prison in the detention center is still "a certain distance" from the outer wall, these slogans can still be clearly heard in the prison, which has become an "alarm clock" for them or Park Geun-hye herself, waking up not only Park Geun-hye on time every day, but also waking them up.
Of course, Park Geun-hye's supporters have done more than that, and South Korean media have reported that Park Geun-hye's die-hard fans regularly hold "Taiji Flag Gatherings" to call for Park Geun-hye's release.
Some extreme supporters also claim to "rob prisons", such as the president of the "Aipu Association", Zheng Guangyong, who has called on social media to emulate the history of the French Revolution and the occupation of the Bastille, and to carry out the feat of "capturing the Seoul Detention Center and rescuing Park Geun-hye".
Soon, however, Mr. Cheng "vetoed" his proposal, concluding by pointing out that they could not capture the Seoul Detention Center in a "civilized country," and that they could not succeed from a practical point of view.
Of course, Park Geun-hye's supporters also feel that park Geun-hye can be "released from prison early" through a "presidential amnesty".
However, in addition to the daily "wake-up service" of fans, Park Geun-hye's prison life can be regarded as very flat, because Park Geun-hye almost always stays in her single room and does not go out, and she refuses almost all visitation requests, except for meeting with lawyer Yoo Young-hye twice a week, even her family and friend Park Geun-hye are missing.
Especially after Park Geun-hye was imprisoned, she lived a life that could be called "isolated" for a while.

"isolated": refusal to visit, no tv or newspapers

Now, more than 4 years have passed since Park Geun-hye was imprisoned, and Park Geun-hye has become the longest-serving president in South Korean history, and according to South Korean media reports, Park Geun-hye's prison life can almost be described as "miserable".
On the one hand, Park Geun-hye still lives an almost "isolated" life, as before, the South Korean media revealed that Park Geun-hye neither watches TV nor newspapers, nor rarely goes out of the studio, reading only to read the English dictionary sent by lawyer Yoo Young-ha.
However, due to the large number of Park Geun-hye supporters, she can receive many letters from supporters every day, according to Yoo Young-hye, Park Geun-hye will carefully read the letters from supporters every day, but she never responds.
And because Ms. Park still refuses to meet with anyone but a lawyer, ms. Park learns about the outside world basically only through a conversation with Yoo Young-ha or by reading a letter from a fan.
On the other hand, Park Geun-hye is almost 70 years old, and like many middle-aged and elderly people, Park Geun-hye is also suffering from illness.
A 2019 report showed that Park Geun-hye underwent shoulder surgery in September and was hospitalized for 78 days, but this did not seem to improve Park Geun-hye's shoulder condition, she still needs to undergo 2 weekly rehabilitation treatment, and it is still difficult to lift her left arm above the shoulder, which some people claim is already Park Geun-hye's "old problem".
In addition to shoulder problems, Park Geun-hye was also hospitalized twice for lumbar spine diseases, and the South Korean media had filmed Park Geun-hye going to the hospital in a wheelchair, and the park geun-hye in the picture was thin and gaunt, and it was obvious that prison life was still difficult.
Moreover, Park Geun-hye in prison is not only tortured by physical pain, but also under a lot of psychological pressure, after all, she was originally the most anticipated first female president in South Korean history, but now she has become a prisoner, or the longest-serving president in Korean history, this psychological gap, no matter who it takes a lot of time to accept and digest.
Park Geun-hye's low-key and silent attitude in prison made her supporters stop for a while, but when the new crown epidemic swept the world in March 2020, Park Geun-hye spoke again and attracted everyone's attention.
In March last year, Yoo Yong-hye published a handwritten letter from Park Geun-hye claiming to be concerned about the COVID-19 pandemic and hoping that everyone would raise the "Taiji Flag" and unite around the largest existing opposition camp.
The Taiji flag is the flag of South Korea, and the rally of Park Geun-hye's supporters has always been known as the "Taiji Flag Rally", and Park Geun-hye's letter is clearly a "mobilization order" issued by her supporters.
Some analysts pointed out that the "biggest opposition camp" mentioned in Park Geun-hye's letter is the newly established "Future Unification Party" in February last year, which belongs to the typical "conservative" camp.
Many believe that Park Geun-hye chose to speak out because she could not stand the long and painful prison life, and now there is no hope of "overturning the case" for herself through the judicial process.
And if the "conservatives" can successfully come to power by supporting the "conservatives" against the "progressives" of South Korea's current president Moon Jae-in, then Park Geun-hye may be "pardoned" by the new president and released from prison early.
After all, it is well known that the current president of South Korea, Moon Jae-in, decided to run for the presidency in order to "avenge" his mentor and comrade-in-arms Roh Moo-hyun and realize his common political ideals with Roh Moo-hyun, and finally "pushed" Park Geun-hye.
It was almost impossible for Ms. Park to get a "presidential pardon" at Moon's hands, so Ms. Park had to turn her attention to other conservative politicians.
However, even if conservatives do come to power, Park Geun-hye may not be able to obtain a "pardon", because South Korean media have reported that Lee Joon-seok, an official who was hand-picked by Park Geun-hye and has the title of "Son of Park Geun-hye", is now "ignoring" Park Geun-hye.
According to media reports, the chief executive under Park Geun-hye had previously made a request to Lee Joon-seok, a representative of the National Forces Party, to ask President Moon Jae-in to "pardon" Park Geun-hye, but Lee Joon-seok did not respond, many people believe that Park Geun-hye originally pulled Lee Joon-seok with one hand, and now Lee Joon-seok's behavior of not asking questions is really "ungrateful".
So, in any case, whether Park Geun-hye can get an amnesty and get out of prison early is full of uncertainties, and perhaps Park Geun-hye really has to spend a long decades in prison.
