On the morning of October 23, 2021, the seminar on "National Central City Construction and Public Health Emergency Management System Construction", sponsored by the Guangzhou Federation of Social Sciences and undertaken by the Guangzhou Public Health Service System Construction Research Base, was held in the form of "online and offline, same frequency sharing". The seminar invited a number of experts in the field of health emergency management to discuss the construction of "national central city construction and public health emergency management system" from different perspectives. The meeting was presided over by Wang Dong, dean of the School of Health Management of Southern Medical University. Nearly 200 people from various universities and scientific research units attended the seminar.

Wang Dong pointed out at the conclusion of the meeting that the six experts of this seminar brought a feast of knowledge and stimulated the theoretical innovation and controversy of the construction of the public health emergency management system. This seminar is one of the series of seminars of the 11th Guangzhou Academic Season "Centennial Journey and Centennial Initial Heart" planned and organized by the Guangzhou Federation of Social Sciences, and is also one of the academic series of activities of the School of Health Management to welcome the 70th anniversary of the founding of the school. "Guangzhou Public Health Service System Construction Research Base" is a key research base of humanities and social sciences jointly built by the Guangzhou Social Science Planning Office and our university, the base relies on the School of Health Management, integrates the relevant resources of the whole school, uses the research foundation accumulated over the years to carry out in-depth research on epidemic prevention and control, public opinion response, etc., and provides suggestions and suggestions, and a number of reports have been approved by provincial and ministerial leaders, providing a reference for the government and relevant departments to accurately implement policies.
