Mr. Rong Yuan, together with his brothers Mr. Rong Geng and Mr. Rong Zhaozu, are all people who came out of Dongguan, Guangdong Province, and enjoyed a high academic status in China. Recently, the fifth series of "RongYuan JinshiXue Anthology" (four volumes) of Dongguan's large-scale local literature collection "Dongguan Historical Works Series" initiated and organized by Dongguan Guancheng Library in Guangdong was first published.

The "Dongguan Historical Works Series" has previously published the "Complete Works of Rong Geng" (the third series), "The Complete Works of Rong Zhaozu" (the fourth series), plus the "Rong Yuan JinshiXue Anthology", the first complete collection of important academic treatises of Dongguan "Rongmen Sanjie", adding cultural brightness to Dongguan and helping the construction of "Quality Dongguan".

Rong Yuan was born in the Jinshi family, influenced by family studies, engaged in epigraphy and archaeological research all her life, is a famous jinshi bibliographer, one of the early representatives of female archaeologists in China, and her representative works "Jinshi Bibliography", "Jinshi Bibliography Supplement", "Domestic Academic News", "Yenching University Library Collection of Stone Carved Grass" and so on provide important academic materials for the archaeological community and modern Jinshi bibliography research.

The collation of Rong Yuan's Collected Works of Jinshi Began in 2012 and lasted 9 years, and was officially published in 2021. The book is a compilation of Mr. Rong Yuan's lifelong academic activities, the first systematic collection of his works and articles in the fields of gold stone, archaeology, book reviews, folklore, academic news, etc., divided into three volumes of epigraphy, archaeology and academic news, with a word count of more than 1.8 million words, compiled into 4 volumes. Epigraphy is a study of bronze and stone carvings in ancient China, and is the predecessor of Chinese archaeology. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of modern archaeology in China, and this set of books is not only a first-hand source for studying the history of modern scholarship and discussing the evolution of epigraphy to archaeology, but also has important reference value for today's cultural relics bibliography, the compilation of cultural relics data indexes and the study of excavated materials.

According to reports, in order to dig deeper, rescue and spread the local history and culture, under the background of the strategic thinking of the Guancheng District Committee and District Government to vigorously build a "cultural Guancheng", in 2010, the Guancheng Library initiated and organized the publication of the "Dongguan Historical Works Series", a large-scale local literature collection. In the form of "follow-up publications", on the basis of the preferred content and editions, the famous Dongguan literary and historical scholar Mr. Yang Baolin and other experts and scholars will sort out and proofread the works of Dongguan's past dynasties, with a view to "rescuing" the works of the sages of various generations in Dongguan as soon as possible. As of September 2021, five series of 52 volumes have been published, including the first series of "Works of the Guanren Dynasties (I)" (10 volumes, Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House), the second series of "Selected Poems of The Guancheng Dynasties (Part 1)" (8 volumes, China Encyclopedia Publishing House), the third series of "Complete Works of Rong Geng" (22 volumes, Zhonghua Bookstore), the fourth series of "The Complete Works of Rong Zhaozu" (8 volumes, Qilu Book Society) and the fifth series of "Rong Yuan JinshiXue Anthology" (4 volumes, Qilu Book Society). In addition, the sixth series of "Works of the Guanren Dynasties (II)", the seventh series of "Zheng Shixu Anthology", the eighth series of "Selected Writings of Dongguan Dynasties", and the ninth series of "Selected Poems of The Guancheng Dynasties (Part II)" are being prepared for publication.

Since its release, the "Dongguan Series of Historical Works" has received widespread attention and praise from all walks of life. In 2013, the project was successfully selected as the only "special project" in "2012 Dongguan Cultural Boutique Project" and received the highest amount of publishing support for the project. In 2014, "The Complete Works of Rong Zhaozu" also won the first prize of the National Excellent Ancient Books Award, which is the first time that a publication in Dongguan City has won this level of honor.

Exhibition "Zhiting Street: Cultural Memory of a City"

Mr. Rong Yuan, together with his brother Mr. Rong Geng, a major member of paleography, and Mr. Rong Zhaozu, an authority on the history of thought in the Ming Dynasty, are all well-known scholars who have walked out of Zhiting Street in Guancheng, in addition to the famous arts and crafts educator Deng Bai and the geographer Wu Zhuangda have all lived and studied in Zhiting Street. Zhiting Street can be described as a strong humanistic atmosphere, and since modern times, talents have emerged.

On the occasion of the first release of "Rong yuan Jinshixue Anthology", the organizers specially planned the local humanistic exhibition - "Zhiting Street: Cultural Memory of a City" exhibition, in the form of pictures and documents, for the first time, tried to excavate and sort out the groups of scholars who had lived and studied in modern and modern Zhiting Street, systematically sorted out their academic achievements, analyzed the relatives behind them, teacher education, and contributions to the culture of their hometown, aiming to retain local cultural memory, inherit local historical context, and cultivate the humanistic spirit of Dongguan. The exhibition lasts for one month and will run until November 20.
