On October 21, Guilin Qixing police cracked a burglary case and arrested a suspect. After investigation, the police found that the arrested man was a lost person. On October 22, the man's family rushed to Guilin to recognize him.
On October 20, a burglary occurred on Hengtang Road in Qixing District, Guilin City, but strangely, the stolen items were only daily necessities such as old clothes and shoes. The next day, the police of the Second Criminal Investigation Brigade of the Seven Star Branch of the Guilin Municipal Public Security Bureau arrested the suspect.

In the process of interrogation, the police handling the case found that the suspect man was incoherent, confused in logic, and suspected of having intellectual disabilities. The man's co-workers reported to the police that the man did not know his name, did not have basic common sense of life, had no concept of money, and indeed had intellectual disabilities.
After in-depth investigation, the police found that the man was a Beiliu person and a person who had been "missing" for many years. Soon, the police found the contact information of his family. According to the man's brother Wei Moufu, the man's name is Wei Mouhong, 26 years old, a native of Guangxi, who was mentally disabled by high fever at the age of 3. In 2014, when his family took him to Guangdong to work, Wei Mouhong went out alone and never returned. Although the family called the police and searched through various means, they have not been heard from for so many years.
Through DNA testing and review and comparison, the police finally determined that Wei Mouhong was Wei Moufu's brother who had been lost for 7 years. "When Wei Mouhong's family learned about it, they were very excited and rushed from Guangdong to Guilin overnight to recognize their relatives." The police told reporters.

Also coming to Guilin with Wei Moufu were their mother. Seeing her son who had been lost for 7 years, her mother was particularly excited: "Son, my mother is looking for you so hard!" After 7 years, you have finally returned home..." At the scene of the confession, Wei Mu hugged her son tightly and was reluctant to let go.
On October 26, a reporter from the Southern Morning Post learned from the Qixing police that due to Wei Mouhong's mental retardation and lack of full capacity, it was impossible to take notes; plus the stolen clothes were old clothes, which were difficult to value and could not be filed. Therefore, the police did not pursue his legal responsibility and let his family take him back home.
