George McCann was the earliest star in the NBA, winning four championships, six all-time all-team, four All-Stars, and three leading scorers in his seven seasons with the NBA. The NBA official website brings you the Top 10 games of the Lakers legend.
1. On November 10, 1949, McCann scored 37 points in the Lakers' away game against the Celtics, leading the Lakers to a 98-84 victory over the Celtics. It was the first 30+ of McCann's NBA career, with the Celtics scoring just 18 points. That was the era when McCann ruled the League. In the long history of yellow-green hegemony, the Lakers took the lead in establishing a dynasty.
2. On January 14, 1950, McCann scored 51 points on 55.6 percent of the Lakers' away game against the Rochester Royals (the predecessor of the Kings) on 20-of-36 shooting. In that era, the average shooting percentage of players was only about 37%, and McCann's efficient performance was shocking. But in the end, the Lakers lost to the old opponent 77-83.
3. On April 23, 1950, in the sixth game of the Finals, McCann still shot 13 of 20 under the strict defense of the Syracuse Nationals (the predecessor of the 76ers), leading the Lakers to a 110-95 victory. The Lakers also won the championship with a 4-2 aggregate score. It was the Lakers' first championship in the NBA league.
4. On November 22, 1950, the Fort Wien Pistons challenged the Lakers on the road. In order to beat McCann, the Pistons came up with tactics to delay time, abandon offense, and induce opponents to foul by constantly passing. They used this to reduce the number of McCann attacks and turn the game into a free throw war. In the end, the Pistons won 19-18 against the Lakers, the lowest-scoring game in NBA history. McCann scored 15 points in this game, accounting for 83.3% of the Lakers' total score, which is also the highest percentage of points scored by a player.
5. On January 20, 1952, the Lakers defeated the Rochester Royals 91-81 at home. McCann scored 61 points and 36 rebounds on 22-of-45 shooting in that game. This is the first time since the official establishment of the NBA that someone has cut 60+ in a single game.
6. On March 29, 1952, the first game of the second round of the playoffs, the Lakers played against the Royals. McCann scored 47 points on 15-of-26 shooting and 17-of-18 free throws. That's McCann's highest single-game scoring record in the playoffs.

9. On April 4, 1954, in the third game of the Finals, McCann scored 30 points and 15 rebounds on 11-of-18 shooting, leading the Lakers to defeat the Syracuses 81-67 and give the Lakers a 2-1 lead. In that year's finals, the Lakers and the nation fought hard seven games, and McCann scored a high score of 30+ twice. In the end, the Lakers laughed to the end and achieved the great cause of three consecutive championships.
10. On January 21, 1956, McCann scored 20 points in the Lakers' victory over the Knicks.
