Japanese actor Hirofumi Arai, a 40-year-old actor, was arrested by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department last year on suspicion of sexual assault and violence against door-to-door service masseurs.
According to Japanese media reports, in July 2018, Arai Hirofumi asked the massage parlor to send a masseuse to the massage parlor at about 2 a.m., and afterwards the masseuse reported to the police that Arai Hirofumi had abused him and attempted sexual assault. It is said that the massage shop Arai Hirofumi has been visited many times, and for the victims of this case, Arai Hirofumi frankly said that the other party is his favorite type, but he denied the violence. After the detention period expired, the Tokyo Metropolitan Procuratorate formally indicted Hirofumi Arai for compulsory surrender. In response to the previous denial of pressing the other person's head to commit violence, Arai Hirofumi changed his mouth and said, "If the other party says so, then so be it."
On February 27, his lawyer applied for bail for Hirofumi Arai and paid a bail of 5 million yen (about 320,000 yuan), but the Tokyo District Court's acceptance of his bail application was appealed by the Tokyo District Control Agency, and the bail application was retained for a while. At about 9 p.m. the night of submitting the bail application, Arai was released on bail and left the scene by car.
In September this year, the court opened in Tokyo, and the outside reporters were crowded, and more than 500 candidates competed for 20 seats in the courtroom. Hirofumi Arai, who attended the trial, first bowed his head and apologized to the victim, and then denied his crime, saying that he did not commit violence against the changed women.
Sexual assault, on the other hand, was carried out with the permission of the woman. Subsequently, the victim stressed that he did not agree to the practice, and in the process he repeatedly expressed his refusal. She also revealed that Arai had given 20 million yen (about 1.28 million yuan) to seek reconciliation, but the victim said that he wanted the other party to be punished for introspection more than money.
At the opening of the second instance, in order to prove that the sexual intercourse was carried out with the consent of the woman, Hirofumi Arai submitted a 2-and-a-half-minute long case reenactment short film, which was filmed by Hirofumi Arai himself.
At the third trial, the prosecutor said that Hirofumi Arai forcibly achieved the purpose of sexual desire in spite of the refusal of the female victim, demanded a sentence of 5 years in prison, and said that it was more difficult for women to resist in the face of sexual assault.
Arai's side denied the charges and demanded acquittal, stating that the other party was undressed and did not resist, and the other party behaved ambiguously at that time, making people mistakenly believe that the other party agreed. The case was decided on December 2, and this morning the Tokyo court announced that Arai Hirofumi was sentenced to five years in prison, and he appealed against it.
After the sexual assault, Arai faced huge claims from major companies. All of the film and television works and advertisements participated in the performance were suspended or withdrawn, and due to the huge amount of claims from major companies, the liquidated damages were estimated to be as high as 1.5 billion yen (about 96.2 million yuan). Its Arai Hirobumi Office said it terminated its contract with Hirofumi Arai and expressed deep regret for the victims.
Emotionally rich, he has had romantic relationships with many actresses, such as Miyu Sakamoto, Xia Fan, Chizuru Ike, and Fumi Nijido. Arai once published a blatant text on a social networking platform: "For women's breasts, I prefer beautiful legs." "I think 4 people massage me at the same time, 5 people are better." And so on. A number of sex workers broke the news, saying that they had been treated harshly many times when they had a relationship with Arai Hirobumi and refused to take safety measures.
Hirofumi Arai debuted through "GO! The Great Runaway" and has been active in front of the screen ever since, winning the Best Newcomer Actor Award at the 2013 Takasaki Film Festival for his outstanding works and acting skills, and being nominated for the 39th Japan Academy for Best Supporting Actor in 2016 for "100 Yuan of Love", and starring in the popular live-action film "Gintama" as Okada Resubel.
