On October 14th, the 2021 Wuxi-Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation and Exchange Conference with the theme of "Deepening Cooperation and Seeking Common Development" was held in Shenzhen, and leaders and heads of enterprises from universities and research institutes in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area gathered together to discuss the development direction of future scientific and technological innovation cooperation between Wuxi and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and successfully signed 17 cooperation projects. This is the first time that the city has held an exchange meeting on the theme of scientific and technological cooperation in Shenzhen.
The reporter learned that in May this year, the Ministry of Education announced the first batch of future technical colleges list, Wuxi City quickly launched school-site cooperation, aiming at the frontier of science and technology, laying a solid foundation for Wuxi to seize the opportunity of innovation and development. Among them, strengthening scientific and technological cooperation and talent exchanges with Hong Kong and Macao has become an important choice for Wuxi, and is committed to promoting the in-depth docking of scientific and technological innovation resources between the Yangtze River Delta and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, further strengthening the innovation cooperation between Wuxi and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, actively promoting the integration and exchange of scientific and educational resources, scientific and technological talents and scientific research achievements between Wuxi and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and building Wuxi into an important domestic talent center and innovation highland.
At this event, the Wuxi Municipal Government focused on the scientific and technological needs of strategic emerging industries and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the City University of Hong Kong; Jiangyin City signed a contract with the Science and Technology Innovation Incubation Center of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and guangzhou Huangpu Laboratory to jointly build an innovation platform in Jiangyin Xiakewan Science City; Yixing San barrel oil environmental protection technology co., Ltd. and the Fok Ying Tung Research Institute of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to carry out project cooperation; Xishan District and Shenzhen Big Data Research Institute jointly build a "big data processing analysis R&D base" Huishan District has carried out strategic cooperation with Shenzhen Urban Public Safety Technology Research Institute and Shenzhen Qianhai Science and Technology Innovation Graphene New Technology Research Institute, and Binhu District and Shenzhen Research Institute of City University of Hong Kong jointly built TaihuWan Science and Technology Innovation Center.
In addition, Wuxi Xinwu District (High-tech Zone) actively guides enterprises in the district to carry out innovative cooperation with first-class scientific research institutes, and 4 enterprises sign industry-university-research cooperation agreements with the University of Macau, Jinan University, Shenzhen University, Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School; Wuxi Economic Development Zone, Wuxi Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and South China University of Technology signed a cooperation agreement on jointly building a future technical college, which is also the first future technical college cooperation agreement signed in Wuxi.
It is worth noting that the 9 industry-university-research institutes signed at this meeting closely follow the technical needs of Wuxi's advantageous industries and enterprises, focusing on integrated circuits, new materials, ecological environment and other fields, and will promote the innovation and cooperation between Wuxi and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into the fast lane in the future.
