In order to carry out fraud, the scammers actually built their own "police stations" and sent false short videos to the victims. On October 23, Nandu reporters learned from the Luzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau in Sichuan Province that recently, when a citizen applied for a loan, he encountered fraud, and the fraudsters not only wore police uniforms, but also filmed a video in front of the background wall with the words "police station" written on it, in an attempt to impersonate the police.
It is understood that recently, citizen Kong applied for a 20,000 yuan online loan on the mobile app, but the order status showed that the borrower's account information did not match the bank card, and the funds were frozen. Soon after, the App's "customer service" replied to it, saying that it must deposit 15% of the loan funds into the bank card within the specified time to unfreeze, and if it is not certified, it will not only need to repay normally every month, but also be filed.
At the same time, the "customer service" also showed a "red head document" notifying "lender certification and unfrozen loan account". Seeing the document, Kong Mou had doubts in his heart, and thinking of the anti-fraud propaganda carried out by the police station before, he decided to call the police. At this time, the scammer sent a video, a "policeman" in a police uniform, asking Kong to complete the certification as soon as possible, and the background wall behind this "policeman" is still the background wall of a "police station".
Kong, who was suspicious, hurried to the Lotus Pond Police Station of the Longmatan District Public Security Bureau to ask the police for help. After the police learned about the incident, they explained to Kong that the public security organs would not handle cases through telephone, QQ, WeChat and other forms, and would not let them enter the bank card account password on the website to unfreeze the funds, and the other party must be a criminal who pretended to be a police fraud. The police dissuaded in time, kong did not cause economic losses. Subsequently, at the suggestion of the police, Kong downloaded and installed the National Anti-Fraud Center App.
