With sonorous singing, we walked into the honor room of the brigade's "Dadu River Company" Company, and what came into view was a unique wooden boat on the Dadu River. On the background wall behind the boat, 17 Red Army soldiers are vividly depicted crossing the river with bamboo poles and guns held high, charging hard in the waves.
Standing on the node of the 85th anniversary of the victory of the Long March, and looking back at the battle on the Dadu River, we are amazed by the heroic feats of the revolutionary ancestors.
The "Dadu River Company" was a company of the Red Army born in the autumn harvest uprising of 1927, and was one of the earliest companies "with branches built on the company". On May 23, 1935, the company, along with the 1st Division and 1st Regiment of the 1st Army of the 1st Army of the Central Red Army, was ordered by the Central Revolutionary Military Commission to quickly seize the Anshunchang Ferry port of the Dadu River, opening a way for the Red Army to be chased by a large number of enemy troops.
On May 25, Xiong Shanglin, commander of the 1st Battalion and 2nd Company, and 17 other warriors formed a commando team, each carrying a barge gun, a submachine gun, a saber and a number of grenades, took a ferry, braved the fierce fire of the enemy, and braved the roaring vicious waves.
After a heroic battle, the seventeen warriors defeated the counterattack of more than 200 defending enemies, helped the company successfully land on the shore and consolidated the beachhead position, broke through the "natural danger" Dadu River, opened a way for the Central Red Army to go north, and wrote a glorious stroke in the history of the Long March. After the war, 17 warriors were awarded the "Red Star Medal" by the Central Military Commission of the Chinese Revolutionary Army, and the company was named "Dadu River Company", which has since enjoyed the reputation of the whole army.
The enemy's desperate situation, which thought it impossible for us to break through, was forced to open a passage by the poorly equipped Red Army; the vicious battle that seemed impossible to win was won by the inferior Red Army. The victory of the Red Army in crossing the Dadu River fully illustrates a truth -- once an army has a lofty spirit, it will stand up a steely backbone, and it will burst out with immeasurable strength, thus achieving one seemingly impossible victory after another.
The first battle of Pingshiguan, the bloody battle of Dalonghua, the fierce battle of Loess Ridge, the battle of Liaoshen, the attack on Pingjin... Under the guidance of the party flag, the company participated in more than 1,000 large and small battles during the war years, and made outstanding achievements in the southern conquest of the northern war. In the course of the battle, it has tempered the "Dadu River Spirit" with the essence of "obeying the party's command, bravely forging ahead, daring to fight and win, and taking into account the overall situation," which has become a source of strength that encourages the officers and men of the "Dadu River Company" from generation to generation to bravely forge ahead.

86 years ago, the Dadu River was under fire and bullets; 86 years later, the Dadu River is still raging and rolling, and the waves are shaking. At the beginning of May this year, the brigade selected 8 outstanding officers and soldiers of the "Dadu River Company" to go to Anshun Field in Sichuan to trace the footsteps of their ancestors and feel the great spirit of the Long March.
"It is the iron heart's loyalty to the party that inspires the warriors to sacrifice their lives and forget their deaths and forge ahead... The 'Dadu River Spirit' is a monument forged by the revolutionary ancestors with their lives." We must inherit this precious spiritual wealth and carry it forward. On the banks of the Dadu River, Li Zefan, the current instructor of the company, held a unique "party history lesson" with the officers and men of the camp through video linking.
Shuai Fei, the grandson of the old shipwright Shuai Shigao, told the officers and men of the company the details that his grandfather had mentioned: "That night, the Red Army slept in Anshun Field and did not alarm the local people. May 25 every year is the day of the "Dadu River Company". On that day, they will invite combat heroes to the team to tell the story of the battle and talk about the fine traditions with the officers and soldiers. In recent years, the brigade has taken the "Dadu River Spirit" as a valuable spiritual wealth, and through battlefield story meetings and literary and artistic performances, it has been built into a characteristic cultural brand of the brigade, and the officers and men of the whole brigade have been guided to draw spiritual impetus from it. Today, the honor room of the "Dadu River Company" has become an important position for the officers and men of the whole brigade to carry out party history study and education.
The Blood of the Red Army is in the same vein, and the footsteps of the warriors have never stopped. In 2018, the company's squad leader and corporal Xue Zhouyun represented the brigade in the army's "Jingwu-2018" competition. The assessment requires each participating team to carry a weight of 25 kilograms and complete 10 subject assignments in a row within 36 hours. This was a test of the limits of the human body, and in a simulation test before the game, Xue Zhouyun accidentally sprained his knee. On the day of the official competition, the comrades were very worried about him, but he said firmly: "Rest assured, I can do it!" Last year, on the field of the brigade's "decisive victory" competition, a resolute figure sweated like rain. Bending and stretching again and again, Corporal Che Peidu once again broke the brigade record with excellent results, and it was no surprise that everyone was awarded the title of "Decisive Champion" of the brigade again. This is the ninth time that he has been a soldier for 4 years.
From the day he was listed in the "Dadu River Company", he embarked on a journey of pursuing his dreams.
