Jordan's rookie season boots were auctioned for $1.47 million, a record for sneaker auctions

According to NBC, on Sunday, local time, a pair of shoes worn by Michael Jordan in the regular season was auctioned by collector Nick Fiorella for $1.472 million (about 9.39 million yuan), becoming the first pair of sneakers ever auctioned at auction for more than $1 million.

The Nike Air Ships were designed by Nike legendary designer Bruce Kilgore, and Sotheby's said Jordan wore the shoes in his fifth game of his rookie season, when Jordan had 17 points, five rebounds and five assists, and the Bulls lost 113-129 to the Nuggets.

The pair of shoes was also given to Nuggets Tommie Tim III Lewis after the game, and according to Sotheby's, the shoes are currently "in excellent condition".
