Dialogue with the boss who provided 3 yuan noodles for sanitation workers for 11 years: I can't bear to watch two people share a bowl of noodles

Jimu news reporter Zhang Qi

Sun Guilin, 48, the owner of "Sun Ji Hand Rolling Noodles" in Shuocheng District, Shuozhou, Shanxi Province, has only charged half a price of 3 yuan a bowl as long as there are sanitation workers eating large bowls of hand-rolled noodles at her home since around 2010, and also comes with a small dish. After 11 years, the price of the large bowl of hand-rolled noodles has been adjusted to 8 yuan, and she still insists on charging only 3 yuan to the sanitation worker.

Sun Guilin's noodle restaurant is located on the south side of the Seventh Middle School of Shuocheng District, South Development Road. Some nearby merchants told reporters that Sun Guilin is warm to people, and the taste of her noodles is also very good, because she gives preferential prices to sanitation workers, and many people around her think that she is kind and willing to go to her house to eat noodles. On October 27, Sun Guilin told Jimu News that as long as her noodle shop is still open, the price of 3 yuan a bowl will not rise.

I can't bear to see the two of them eat a bowl of noodles

Jimu News: Under normal circumstances, how much does each large bowl of hand-rolled noodles cost?

Sun Guilin: 11 years ago, the large bowl of hand-rolled noodles was 6 yuan a bowl, and now each bowl of noodles is 8 yuan, if you add meat or vegetables to the noodles, the price is higher.

Jimu News: Why did you give preferential treatment to sanitation workers in the first place?

Sun Guilin: At that time, there were not many sanitation workers in the store, and I noticed that they were two people buying a bowl of noodles together and then eating them separately, and I felt that they should not have enough to eat. One day I asked a few people, and they said it was almost good, and I was sure they weren't full. At that time, I said that I only charged 3 yuan for a bowl of noodles. The main thing is that they feel that they are very hard, they don't make much money, and they want to spend less money and eat enough.

Jimu News: How many sanitation workers eat noodles in your shop every day?

Sun Guilin: At the beginning, there were not many people, but later they knew that my family's large bowl of noodles only charged 3 yuan, and there were more people. Now there are basically twenty or thirty people every day, all working nearby.

Polar News: When do they usually visit?

Sun Guilin: Usually it is around 7 o'clock in the morning, which is the time when they leave work, which is about the same time as other customers coming to eat noodles. They go home to rest after eating in the morning, and basically don't come at noon or in the afternoon.

As long as the noodle shop is still there, the price will not increase

Jimu News: After the preferential treatment for sanitation workers, has there been any change in business?

Sun Guilin: The impact is not big, mainly because the sanitation workers are more than at the beginning. My storefront is not large, the sanitation workers were full, and people outside did not come in after a glance. Later, some people learned about this matter (only 3 yuan for sanitation workers) and would be willing to come to my house to eat noodles, and the business was OK.

Jimu News: Insisting on 11 years, have you ever thought of price increases?

Sun Guilin: No. At that time, I just wanted them (sanitation workers) to spend less money, so I insisted on it. As long as my noodle shop is still open, I won't raise their prices.

Jimu News: Charging a few dollars less per bowl of noodles will make you lose money?

Sun Guilin: No. If twenty or thirty people come to eat noodles every day, although they charge more than a hundred yuan less a day, there are other people who come to the noodle restaurant to eat noodles, and they will not lose money. My lover and I also opened a restaurant, and two stores can still make money.

Jimu News: Has anyone ever thanked you?

Sun Guilin: No one has said it directly. Some people come a lot, I know them all, and I usually chat. But I don't care about this either, and when I watch them eat enough and eat happily, I will be happy with them.
