Le Kai Tang, located in Taolin Bay, Taolinba Village, Jinshi Town, Lianyuan City, Hunan Province, is the ancestral home of Xie Zhending and Xie Xingyao, the "Hanlin Father and Son" of the Qing Dynasty, also known as the "Xie Family House". In 2011, "Le Kai Tang" was rated as a provincial cultural relics protection unit.
According to xie Xiang, the main practitioner of the 1995 "Seven Cultivation Genealogies of The Great Emperor of Xie Dynasty", he added in the genealogy: According to legend, after the death of Xie Zhending, the Jiaqing Emperor personally wrote a tribute: "Shuo Dang Prince, Mr. Fu; Shuo Deng Dabao, Mr. Fu; Shuo Jin crossed the river, for Mr. Obituary." He also wrote in his own handwriting for Xie Zhending: "The hero of the father of the ancestors, the god lord of the old man, Mr. Xie Gongzhen of the Ancestors." From this, it is inferred that "Taixue" should have been written by the Jiaqing Emperor himself to show respect for the teacher.
Taolin Bay's current three-in-nine-hall "Le Kai Tang" mansion is one of the oldest and best preserved ancient buildings in central Hunan Province. Le Kai Hall was built by Xie Tianyin and Xie Tianxian brothers in the 17th year of the Qing Kangxi Dynasty (1678), the name of the hall is "Le Kai", taking the meaning of father and son brothers gathering together, harmony and happiness, it has been more than 300 years, as the first hanlin province, the current area is about 10,000 square meters.
Le Kai Hall has four rows of bungalows in front and back, green brick wooden structure, and three entrances and nine halls are connected. There are two doors and two patios in the main courtyard, and the golden paint on the wooden grid in the back hall is still very distinct, and there are many carved patterns on the wooden pillar beams in the hall.
A plaque of "Taixue" written by the emperor of the Qing Dynasty was found here. The "Taixue" plaque hangs in the middle hall of Lekai Hall, about 2 meters wide and 1 meter high, and is inlaid with several wooden boards, and the word "Taixue" in the script is still clear. The plaque is dotted with dust and faded, indicating that it has been unusual for hundreds of years.
The terrain of Taolin Dam is pictographic, and LeKai Hall is located on the elephant's trunk. In front of LeKai Hall, there is a large ping and a fan-shaped pond, and in front of it is a vast rice field. On the phoenix-shaped mountain, about one kilometer from the compound, stands a two-foot-tall boulder named Jinshi. There is also a large cave in the middle of the mountain, and few people still go into it. Ancient architecture, legends of celebrities, and natural landscapes make Taolin Bay a mysterious color.
