Giant snails are infested, please avoid!
On the side of the road after the rain, on the edge of the grass, we often see snails crawling slowly. When we were young, most of the snails we saw were 2-3 cm long "little cute".
And now we will see some "giant snails" in pairs, generally about 7 centimeters in length, and the longest can exceed 20 centimeters! They are called African large snails, with a spiral shell on the back, with 7 to 9 spiral layers, and the shell surface is yellow or dark yellow background, with a burnt brown mist pattern, so it is also called brown cloud agate snail.

Here's the point
The African giant snail is not a native species of China, but one of the first 16 invasive alien species in China, with a gregarious habit and nocturnal appearance. It can eat more than 500 kinds of food, including trees, fruit trees, vegetables, flowers, etc., and its reproductive ability is very strong. The African giant snail is included in the "List of Quarantine Pests of The People's Republic of China into The Territory of Plants" and is a quarantine pest prohibited from entering China.
It is not only a pastoral killer, but also an intermediate host for many animal parasites and pathogenic bacteria, such as Guangzhou tube roundworm and ridge-shaped pipe roundworm. In addition, parasites such as schistosomiasis, whipworms, membranous tapeworms, and fecal roundworms can also be detected in its feces. Even in high temperature environments, some pathogens and germs will not all die, and the potential threat to human health is very large.

African large snails carry bacteria in their feces or mucus, which can easily cause allergic reactions. Contaminated water or vegetables can also spread bloodworms and infect humans. So don't touch it when you see it! In particular, children have low immunity, and they cannot touch African snails because of curiosity. In addition, eating African large snails infected with these parasites, or touching their excrement, Spunylloidium may enter the human body and parasitize in the human central nervous system or cerebrospinal fluid, which may cause meningitis.
"Giant snails" are infested, how to prevent it?
The African giant snail is a terrestrial mollusk that rises day and night, which brings certain difficulties to the control. It is necessary to adhere to the comprehensive control measures based on agricultural control and biological control, supplemented by timely and appropriate chemical control. Because pesticides and chemicals have an impact on air and plants, it is recommended to use alkaline substances such as quicklime or grass and wood ash for disinfection.
When a large number of "giant snails" are found in the community, you can ask the property or a company specializing in killing pests and diseases to deal with it. If you develop symptoms of discomfort after exposure to African large snails, you should seek medical attention promptly and inform your healthcare provider of your contact history.
