Recently, the 2021 China (Taizhou) Pharmaceutical Summit ended in Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province. As a normalized event of China (Taizhou) International Pharmaceutical Expo, this summit focused on the two themes of "Biomedical R&D and Scientific Research and Innovation under the New Crown Epidemic" and "Development and Cultural Dissemination of Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry".
At this summit, Li Jia, director of the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, proposed that in the next 5 to 10 years, the global pharmaceutical industry will shift from imitation innovation to original innovation, and China can only master the core competitiveness by always adhering to scientific and technological innovation, independent innovation, and firmly mastering the core technology in its own hands. Zhu Tao, chief scientific officer of Tianjin Kangxino Biology, introduced that the principle of inhalation vaccine developed by Kangxino Biology is "atomization drug delivery", and inhalation vaccine may become a trend in the future. Jiang Shibo, director of the Institute of Pathogenic Microbiology of Fudan University, pointed out that the independent research and development of efficient and broad-spectrum anti-novel coronavirus drugs is a major event that China needs to work hard at present.
Academician Yu Mengsun, an expert in aviation medicine and biomedical engineering, said that Chinese medicine is a medicine that serves the people with a holistic world view of the unity of heaven and man. "Large-scale and orderly opening up" is a modern system project of TCM in the new era, that is, TCM should change from the past one-to-one, personalized service model to a model based on solving "common problems". Zhang Xueshi, president of Harbin Medical University, pointed out that based on and clinical-oriented scientific research has the most vitality, and upgrading clinical demand into scientific problems is one of the best ways to produce medicine.
The pharmaceutical summit was co-sponsored by Taizhou Pharmaceutical High-tech Zone and the Biotechnology and Pharmacy Working Committee of the Chinese Peasants' and Workers' Democratic Party, and hosted by the Organizing Committee of the China (Taizhou) Pharmaceutical Summit and the Taizhou Municipal Committee of the Peasants' and Workers' Democratic Party. Since its inception in 2016, the summit has gradually become a high-end academic platform for the industry with high visibility and greater influence in China.
