In October 1942, hundreds of generals and thousands of people of our army gathered in front of a tomb to mourn zuo quan, a famous anti-Japanese general who died not long ago.
Everyone's eyes were filled with anger, and everyone had only one common belief: to avenge the shame of General Zuo Quan!
You must know that there are not a few generals in our army who died during the War of Resistance Against Japan, but no one like General Zuo Quan made everyone angry and couldn't sleep all night, not only because General Zuo Quan had an extremely high status in our army, but also because the Japanese army committed unforgivable sins after his death.
Later, in order to avenge General Zuo Quan, Mr. Peng personally ordered Liu Manhe to train assassins and practice day by day, and finally advanced to Qi County in Chinese New Year's Eve 1942 to avenge General Zuo Quan.'s hatred.
Why did zuo quan, a famous anti-Japanese general, die? How did Mr. Peng take revenge?

The Death of Zuo Quan: The Sacrifice of a Fearless Hero

On March 15, 1905, Zuo Quan was born in a poor family in Huangmaoling, Hunan Province, although he dropped out of school several times because of his family's poverty, but with a heart to learn, Zuo Quan returned to the classroom many times with his own efforts.
Later, he was admitted to the Army Martial Arts School and the Whampoa Military Academy by virtue of his outstanding ability, and under the guidance of Marxism, he joined the Communist Party of China during his schooling.
Because of his excellent performance, he was later sent by our party to Moscow Sun Yat-sen University and the Frunze Military Academy for further study, and his military quality was greatly improved.
After a relatively long study career, zuo quan gradually shined in our army in 1930, first serving as the chief of education of the first branch of the Red Army Officer School, and then serving as the commander of the Red New 12th Army, the operational staff officer of the General Headquarters of the Red Army, and the chief of staff of the Red First Army.
He also personally led the main force of the Red Army to carry out the Long March, and had outstanding performances in battles such as the forced crossing of the Dadu River and the capture of Luding Bridge.
Before the Double Twelve Incident in 1936, the battle of the mountain castle in northern Shaanxi commanded by Zuo Quan even impressed many generals in our army, and even Marshal Liu Bocheng boasted,
"Comrade Zuo Quan's deployment of operations was meticulous and thorough."
In 1939, when Chiang Kai-shek's anti-communism was the most brutal, Zuo Quan defended the Taihang anti-Japanese base area with his own efforts and greatly boosted our military morale.
The following year, he assisted Mr. Peng in the combat command of the Hundred Regiments War, which won the praise of Mr. Peng.
But such a great revolutionary general was eventually killed in a battle in 1942 to cover the evacuation of his soldiers.
In May 1942, Gangcun Ningci swept away the base areas of our army behind enemy lines on a large scale, and once surrounded the headquarters of our army.
But even so, Zuo Quan remained calm, first directing the evacuation of non-combatants such as medical institutions, and then taking the initiative to lead his troops to cut off the rear.
Originally, it was completely possible to completely withdraw, but it was not expected that the notorious "Mashiko Advance Team" of the Japanese army would later block the retreat route of our army, so that Zuo Quan and other anti-Japanese heroes were forced to retreat to the Cross Ridge in Xiliao County.
The enemy first suppressed it with fierce artillery fire, and then gradually narrowed the encirclement, obviously with the intention of capturing our generals alive.
However, Zuo Quan naturally did not let them be satisfied, after finding out the law of the enemy's artillery fire, Zuo Quan directly led the soldiers to launch a breakthrough, and tore a hole in the enemy's encirclement, but just when Zuo Quan and others were about to break through, the crowd suddenly heard Zuo Quan shouting.
"Lie down! Lie down! There are cannonballs! ”
At Zuo Quan's reminder, most of the comrades lying on the ground survived from the shell that exploded close at hand, but when everyone raised their heads, they were trembling and in tears--Zuo Quan, who first saw the shell, died heroically. ‘’
It turned out that after seeing the shell, Zuo Quan was not the first to lie down, but instead roared angrily to let the crowd dodge the shell, and by the time the crowd was basically dodging almost, he had no time to lie down, and the fragments of the bomb finally penetrated his head...
The remaining fighters desperately took Zuo Quan's body out and buried it in a mountain forest, and then rushed to meet the large team and prepare to continue fighting the murderous Japanese army.
When they learned of the bad news of General Zuo Quan's sacrifice, Mr. Peng and others were all red-eyed, but for the sake of the war situation, they did not announce the news of General Zuo Quan's death, and they also specially told everyone to keep it a secret.
But no one thought that the first to break this news would be the Japanese army.
It turned out that in order to completely crush the morale of our army, the Japanese Kou, who had lost their nature, actually exhumed the body of General Zuo Quan from the grave, and finally openly put the photograph of General Zuo Quan's devastated body on the newspaper.
This move completely infuriated the officers and men of our army, and after our army publicly held a memorial ceremony for General Zuo Quan, everyone's hearts were filled with anger to avenge blood and hatred, which led to the story of the later night attack on the county town.

Chinese New Year's Eve revenge: the county town is full of night killings

After the sacrifice of General Zuo Quan, Mr. Peng has always wanted to avenge him, so he not only killed on the battlefield, but also specially trained an assassination team personally, only when the time was ripe, he sneaked into the county town to find the culprit who caused General Zuo Quan to die.
The enemy did not let Mr. Peng wait long, and when our army intercepted the information that the famous "Mashiko Advance Team" was going to celebrate at the Qixian Hotel Chinese New Year's Eve, Mr. Peng knew that the opportunity for revenge had come.
The time of the operation was set for the Chinese New Year's Eve of 1942, and under the leadership of Liu Manhe, 30 carefully selected soldiers in our army walked into the city of Qi County in the wind and snow and began to lurk.
In order to dispel the vigilance of the enemy to the greatest extent, the 30 soldiers either dressed up as onlookers or as vendors, and their words were quite natural and did not show any traces of soldiers.
At about ten o'clock in the evening, the rampant Japanese troops officially began their celebration at the Dadexing Hotel, and the Japanese soldiers pushed cups and changed cups, ate and drank well, but did not notice the murderous gaze that was faintly coming from not far away.
Although their hearts were full of hatred, everyone still held their emotions and forcibly shouted around with a smile, all because of Liu Manhe's advice before coming.
In order to avenge Comrade Zuo Quan, comrades must obey my orders and kill the enemy in one blow!"
The members of Mashiko's advance team were soon so drunk that from time to time there were a few drunken cries of the japanese in the restaurant.
Seeing that the moon was getting darker, Liu Manhe, who was curled up in a corner, finally came out of the shadows and waved his hand violently!
"Kill!"
The voice of Theoso continued to sound, and the assassins quickly entered the restaurant with sharp blades, and before the Japanese soldiers could react, a cold dagger had already cut the throats of countless Japanese.
The battle ended quickly, the assassination team members' months of hard training were not in vain, in the absence of any casualties, the Mashiko advance team had been completely destroyed, after the end of the mission, Liu Manhe looked at the corpses everywhere and issued a seemingly cold order.
"Cut off all their heads and hang them on the gate of Qi County."
Therefore, in the early morning of the first day of the Chinese New Year in 1943, such a strange scene appeared in Qixian County, only to see that the people in the city were silent at home with their eyes happy, and outside the city were the heads of countless members of the Mashiko Advance Team.
In fact, this scene not only appeared in Qi County, Shanxi, but also in Changzhi and Taiyuan and other places, under the premise of Mr. Peng's intention, all the Japanese troops felt the anger and revenge from the Chinese, so that during the New Year's Period of that year, they became the nightmare of the Surrounding Japanese Army, who were full of noise and worried that the members of the assassination team would come to their side.
As for what happened to Mashiko's advance team, those Japanese were not surprised, because long after general Zuo Quan was unfortunately killed and taken by the Japanese army to make a fuss, they knew that revenge from us would come sooner or later, but no one expected it to come so quickly.
Perhaps many people may have forgotten who General Zuo Quan was now, but in the revolutionary years, this name resounded throughout the Red Army, because he was on a par with Zhu De and General Manager Peng, and was called "Zhu Pengzuo", a well-known revolutionary fighter in our army.
Although General Zuo Quan died at the age of 37, his name was permanently engraved on the glorious history and monuments of our army.
As one of the early senior generals of our army, General Zuo Quan helped our party and our army through the most difficult period of time, but unfortunately he did not have time to enjoy the fruits of hard work, so he heroically sacrificed himself on the battlefield of the anti-Japanese resistance.
But it is precisely because of this that we should remember the contributions and sacrifices made by the general to the country and the people, and pay deep remembrance and mourning for the general.
Only by remembering the martyrs can the faithful soul live forever!
