On October 16, as one of the supporting activities of the 2021 Tianfu Book Fair, the sharing meeting of "Looking at History: Humanistic Observation from a Large Regional Perspective" was held at the Chengdu Xuankehui Evergrande Square Store. The famous writers Jiang Lan, Li Yongxian, Liao Yun, together with the author of the book and the Nanchong writer Pang Qiantao, walked into the literary building constructed with softness and delicacy, saw the world of historical literature in the past of Shuzhong, and appreciated the "Pang" flavor and "shocking waves" in the trickle.
Pang confessed that the book is a hidden value behind the salvage of large areas and small history. Jiang Lan said that from "Looking at History", he captured some of the silent sense of high-grade that Pang Qiantao reflected after reading and thinking about it and landing on the ground. Li Yongxian believes that this book takes into account both history and reality, tells us how to inherit excellent historical and cultural heritage, and reflects the author's realistic concern and profound historical thinking.
At the end of June this year, Pang wrote a collection of historical essays, "Looking at History: Humanistic Observations from a Large Regional Perspective", published by Sichuan People's Publishing House and sold online on online platforms such as JD.com and Dangdang. As a "Qian fan" who studied Qian Zhongshu, why did he write such a collection of historical essays that paid attention to the regional history of Shudi? Pang Xiaotao admitted that the study of "Qian Xue" was his main direction of attack, but he was also full of strong interest in the history of Shudi literature. For many years, he has been silently studying the history of Shudi literature, which is also the first related book he wrote.
From 2017 to 2019, pang As the executive editor, he temporarily participated in the editorial work of the historical and humanistic magazine "Looking at History", which is known as "China's most beautiful journal", and it was during this period that Pang Qiantao shifted the focus of reading and writing from the study of Qian Zhongshu's life and academic thought to the study and research of history. "Looking at History" magazine takes "ancient and modern insights, the feelings of the world" as the purpose of running the magazine, and the selected topics almost include the history of ancient and modern China and foreign countries.
"But my study and research obviously cannot be comprehensive, I can only intercept one of the passages in China's long and complicated history to study, and the atypical events and characters in the middle and modern history have become the focus of my systematic research and study, which I regard as small historical study and research." Pang Said: In addition to most of the works in this collection of historical essays that were first published in the magazine "Look at History" in the form of prefaces or theme planning and distribution, a small number of them were published in newspapers and periodicals such as "Bookhouse," "Sichuan Daily," "West China Metropolis Daily," and "Sichuan CPPCC Daily," with a total of more than 30 articles and more than 190,000 words. This collection is presented precisely as a little reflection on what historical essay writing is and how it can be.
"Throughout this book, I centered on Chengdu and extended the tentacles of 'small history' learning to a wider area. It also involves many nanchong stories, focusing on the subtle and sensitive emotional and psychological worlds of historical figures in those atypical events. Pang Saidao, for example, in the first month of the eleventh year of qing guangxu (1885 AD), the poet Yi Shunding, known as the "Talent of Longyang", entered Shu by water through Badong, Wushan, and Yunyang, and began a year-long tour of shu. Among them, inspired by the rich relics of the Three Kingdoms and the story of the Three Kingdoms, the first stop is to cross the Jialing River and travel to Nanchong. In Nanchong, the poet was warmly received by friends, and the poetry was highly popular, and nearly ten poems were written in Nanchong. In addition, Pang Also wrote about his hometown of Xichong County, "The Last Ancient Well", telling the story of what once happened there and his deep attachment to his hometown.
Zhu Yong, a famous writer and director of the Institute of Cultural Communication of the Palace Museum, commented that Pang Qingtao, with the parallel perspective of "looking at history", led us into the large historical geography area with Shudi as the core, into the big events and small people hidden in the dust and smoke of history, the historical thinking and sense of history inspired by it, and the comprehensive presentation of historical views and historical talents, once again proved that the current history essay writing is indeed "its way is not lonely" and has been inherited.
On the same day, at the sharing meeting, Pang Jingtao told his creative journey, and writers Jiang Lan, Li Yongxian, and Liao Yun also shared some of the contents of the book and the little-known historical allusions and character stories of Shudi. During the 2021 Tianfu Book Fair, hundreds of copies of the book were sold.
