On the morning of November 2, The Pakistani Ambassador to China, Moin Haq, and his party attended the unveiling ceremony of the China-Pakistan Friendship Square (hereinafter referred to as the China-Pakistan Friendship Square) held in Hankou Jiangtan Phase IV. In the evening, Moin Haq visited the Hankou River Beach with representatives of Pakistani students from Wuhan universities to enjoy the night view of Wuhan and feel the life of Wuhan. Moyn Hack said: "Wuhan will get better and better! Best wishes to the people of Wuhan!"
■ The city of Karachi will also build the China-Pakistan Friendship Plaza
"Hubei and Wuhan have a special place in the hearts of the Pakistani people, because the Pakistani people appreciate the resilience, patience, courage and perseverance shown by the people of Wuhan and Hubei in the fight against the epidemic." Moin Haq said that the people of Hubei and Wuhan took care of Pakistani students during the epidemic and provided support and assistance to the Pakistani people. The infrastructure projects of many Hubei and Wuhan companies in Pakistan have made a very significant contribution to local construction, especially in the construction of dams.
Moyn Haq said: "The unveiling of the China-Pakistan Friendship Square reflects the close and united relationship between China and Pakistan, as well as the mutual trust, respect and deep friendship between China and Pakistan and the people. Moyn Haq said that in return for Wuhan's construction of the China-Pakistan Friendship Square, the city of Karachi, Pakistan, will also build a China-Pakistan Friendship Square, which will be unveiled soon. In addition, the two sides are discussing an agreement for the Yangtze and Indus rivers to sign a brother river, considering signing an electronic memorandum later.
■ The cultural elements of China and Pakistan have been integrated in the design of the square
The China-Pakistan Friendship Square, which was rebuilt to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, covers an area of about 1,947 square meters and was jointly designed by the Wuhan Garden Institute and its Zhucheng Sculpture Institute. On the basis of fully preserving the characteristics of the small square sculpture of the original site "Covenant of the Yangtze River", they carried out a micro-transformation to express the friendship between China and Pakistan by integrating design elements symbolizing the two countries. The sculptures on the square are mainly made of stainless steel, and the paint of different colors blends the sculpture and the natural landscape together, which not only expresses the theme, but also loses the harmony of nature.
One of the main sculptures, "70 Years of Friendship between China and Pakistan", adopts the overall shape of two large abstract hands that are closely interlocked, heart-to-heart, and closely connected, building a community of common destiny between China and Pakistan. On the left, there are yellow characters on a red background, engraved with the words "China-Pakistan Friendship Square (1951)", and on the right, white characters on a green background, writing the same content in Urdu, Pakistan. "The yellow characters on a red background are elements of the Chinese flag, and the white characters on a green background are the elements of the Pakistani flag." Wei Ronggang, executive director of Wuhan Zhucheng Sculpture Institute Company, said. In the flowers behind the Gate of Friendship, there are four rails and the shape of the word "drive", which symbolizes the cooperation between China and Pakistan on the "Belt and Road".
On the lamppost of the square landscape lamp, is the famous Pakistani building Pakistan Lahore Fort, which is expressed in the hollow form of Chinese paper-cut, integrating the historical and cultural characteristics of Pakistan and China once again. The seats on both sides of the square are also unique, drawing inspiration from the shape of the Pakistani monument, and redesigning and adjusting the existing seats to form landscape seats with Pakistani characteristics.
Pakistan's national beast, the twisted goat, and the Chinese treasure Chinese sturgeon are two in two at the back of the square, representing the friendship between China and Pakistan. Chinese sturgeon is a first-class key protected wild animal in China, is a treasure of the Yangtze River, known as the "giant panda in the water", the Chinese sturgeon represents China, but also represents Wuhan.
Between the twisted goat and the Chinese sturgeon, the original "Covenant of the Yangtze River" theme sculpture has given a new connotation: the gushing river water forms the shape of the ring, symbolizing the same heart, implying that China and Pakistan have worked together for 70 years, forged ahead and sought common development. The "water droplets" scattered between the lawns are engraved with this meaning.
Zhang Mu, a representative of Pakistani students studying for a doctorate at China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), specially dressed in national costumes to participate in the unveiling event that morning, and took photos in front of the sculpture "70 Years of China-Pakistan Friendship". "Standing on the banks of the Yangtze River, this sculpture shows the world the long-standing and deep friendship between China and Pakistan." Zhang Mu, who has been studying in Wuhan for five years, said, "I hope to bring what I learned in China back to Pakistan and build my own motherland." ”
■ This year's two trips to Wuhan have brought rich cooperation opportunities
Moyn Haq, Pakistan's ambassador to China, said that the cooperation between Hubei, Wuhan and Pakistan has yielded fruitful results. "Many enterprises from Hubei have invested in Pakistan, such as the Three Gorges Group and the Gezhouba Group. Universities on both sides also maintain good cooperation in artificial intelligence, robotics and many other fields. Among the international students in Wuhan universities, the number of Pakistani students is also the largest. ”
The many cooperation agreements signed during the second trip to Wuhan also made Moin Haack look forward to more cooperation in the future. "When we came to Han in April this year, we discussed the possibility of all-round cooperation between Hubei and Pakistan. I'm excited to see that in just 6 months, we've been able to sign so many cooperation agreements, and they cover everything. ”
On November 2, at the unveiling ceremony of the China-Pakistan Friendship Square, Wuhan city and Karachi city of Pakistan signed a letter of intent for friendly exchanges. "Karachi, the largest city in Pakistan, will 'join hands' with Wuhan to collaborate on trade, investment, technology, e-commerce and tourism. Of course, the main thing is the communication between people. Moyn Hack said.
At the same time, the Yangtze River Water Conservancy Commission and the Pakistan Hydropower Development Agency signed a partnership agreement to further promote water technology, management and economic cooperation through high-level mutual visits, online and offline technical exchanges, personnel exchanges and training, information sharing and other forms. Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Pakistan's Sialkot Applied Engineering and Emerging University of Science and Technology signed a joint education cooperation agreement. Wuhan Landing Intelligent Medicine Company signed a memorandum of understanding with the head of Pakistan Life Rehabilitation Technology Development Corporation to cooperate in tackling cervical cancer. "Signing so many sister cities and cooperation agreements with a province in one day at the same time is unprecedented." Moine Haack said.
