According to foreign media reports, Chris Pratt will voice Garfield, who loves to eat lasagna and hates Mondays, in an animated movie.

The new Garfield movie, produced by Aiken Entertainment and distributed by Sony Pictures, will be released worldwide (excluding China, unfortunately), with a release date yet to be announced. The screenplay was written by Oscar-nominated David Reynolds (Finding Nemo) and directed by Mark Tindall (Chicken Boy), who previously collaborated on Disney's Becoming King.

Garfield is an anime character created by Jim Davis that first appeared in comics in 1978. This lazy orange tiger striped big fat cat likes to eat and sleep, often causing trouble for its owner Jon and the cute pet dog Odi. Garfield was first published in 41 newspapers and is currently the most widely reproduced comic strip in the world.

Garfield has previously appeared on the big screen: the 2004 live-action animated film Garfield and the 2006 sequel Garfield 2: Two Cats. The two films were produced by 20th Century Fox, with Bill Murray voiced Garfield.
