From August 14 to 15, 2021, the "Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China - Research and Prospects of Chinese Religions" and the 2021 National Conference of the Chinese Religious Society, sponsored by the Chinese Religious Society and the Institute of World Religions of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, were successfully concluded by online meetings. The conference was held in the form of four online sub-venues, and more than 200 scholars and representatives from scientific research institutions and religious groups across the country discussed the four themes of "Research on the Theory of Socialist Religion with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era", "Research on the Sinification of Religion", "History, Literature, Theoretical Research", and "Cultural Adaptation and Comparative Study of Religion". With the Marxist view of religion and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the basic guidance, the seminar conducted in-depth research, reflection and heated discussion on specific religious traditions and religious theories, and the content of the discussion was diverse, the materials were informative, and the vision was broad, providing rich ideological resources for the theoretical construction of socialist religion with Chinese characteristics in the new era.

On August 15, after the academic event, Zheng Xiaojun, director of the Institute of World Religions of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, presided over the work conference and the ninth council meeting of the Chinese Religious Society. At the meeting, Zheng Xiaojun first made a report and financial report on the work of the eighth council for the directors of the Religious Society. Zheng Xiaojun, president of the new Religious Society, expressed warm congratulations on the complete success of the meeting, expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the leaders, scholars and staff attending the meeting, and summarized the meeting as a whole. In the summary, Zheng Xiaojun reviewed the development history of religious societies, emphasized the role of religious societies in promoting the development of religious studies and disciplines in China, and looked forward to the new tasks and new opportunities for the study of religions with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
