Friends who have read the original work know that in the chapter of "Journey to the West" on the return of the soul of Tang Taizong Prefecture, Li Shimin was not at fault, and the death of the Jinghe Dragon King had nothing to do with Li Shimin, but why did the Jinghe Dragon King bite Li Shimin and not let go? This is mentioned in the original text, the reason why Li Shimin went to the difu in the thirteenth year of Zhenguan, and the beheading of the Jinghe Dragon King in this year, are all related to a certain extent.
For example, in the text, it is said: After the speech, the kings of Yama ordered the judges of the book of life and death: "Hurry up and take the book, and see what your majesty's YangShou Tianlu should have?" Judge Cui hurriedly turned to the sifang and examined the general book of The King of the Heavenly Kingdoms, Tianlu, one by one, only to see that Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty of the Southern Ganbu Continent was destined to be virtuous for thirteen years. Judge Cui was taken aback, and quickly took a thick ink brush, added two paintings to the word "one", but presented the book.
When the Ten Kings looked from the beginning, seeing that Emperor Taizong was destined for thirty-three years, King Yan asked in amazement, "How many years has Your Majesty ascended the throne?" Emperor Taizong said, "It has been thirteen years since he took the throne." King Yan said, "Your Majesty is relieved, there are still twenty years of yang life." This is already a clear understanding of the case, please return to the original yang. ”
From the original text, we can conclude that according to the records in the book of life and death, Li Shimin's life expectancy ended abruptly until the thirteenth year of Zhenguan, but Judge Cui privately added twenty years to him, which led to Li Shimin living for an additional twenty years, while the Tang monk Xitian took a full 14 years.
This also indicates that the 20 years of adding more for Li Shimin are also for the Tang monks to learn the scriptures, then we go back to the Jinghe Dragon King, the Jinghe Dragon King is just the rainfall is to reduce some of the rainfall, change the time of the rainfall, according to the saying that the sin does not lead to death, but the Jinghe Dragon King was beheaded, don't think, his death is also to pave the way for the Tang monks to learn the scriptures from the Western Heavens.
Why? Let's take a look at who is in charge of the Nandou Star Death Book, the reason why King Yan called Li Shimin to the Difu, on the one hand, is to promote Li Shimin to preach the Dharma, on the other hand, they don't have much power, after all, there is a grievance in the death of the Jinghe Dragon King, so let Li Shimin correct it, but for the sake of the heart of the Dragon King of the Jing River, tell him that his death is because of the Nandou Star Death Book, so who is in charge of the Nandou Star Death Book?
When Li Shimin first came to the prefectural palace, Judge Cui once said: Wei Chen Cun ri, before Yang Cao Shi Xianjun drove, was the Zizhou Order, and then worshiped the Ministry of Worship, with the surname Cui Ming. Now in The Yin Division, he was subject to the judge of the case.
From this passage mentioned the capital of Fengdu, here the capital is the Emperor of Fengdu, before Buddhism was not introduced to the Central Plains at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, in Chinese mythology, there was no yin cao prefecture, only the underworld and yinsi, and the ruler of these places was the emperor of fengdu, so the death book of the Southern Dipper Star was controlled by the emperor of fengdu, so why did the emperor of the capital write the dragon king of Jinghe to death for no reason?
This is due to the fact that later Buddhism was introduced to the Central Plains, the Buddha's Tao ghosts and gods began to be confused, and on this basis, a set of very wangzheng Yin Cao prefecture system was formed, and then the Emperor of Fengdu was replaced by the ten generations of Yan Luo, and the Jizo Bodhisattva was above the Yama kings, so the Jinghe Dragon King was written into the Death Book of the Nandou Star, entirely because of the penetration of Buddhism, all in order to allow the Tang monks to propagate the Dharma.
For example, when the soul of the Dragon King of Jinghe was collecting Li Shimin, the original text had a saying: At that indissoluble moment, I saw that the incense clouds were swirling in the south, and the colorful fog was fluttering, and a Jurchen person stepped forward and swung the willow branch with her hand, and the headless dragon, crying in sorrow, went straight to the northwest.
It turned out that this was Guanyin Bodhisattva, who led the Buddha's will to go to the Eastern Soil to find the scriptures, and this lived in the land temple of Chang'an City, smelled the ghost weeping god number at night, and came to drink the retired dragon to save the emperor. The dragon trail to the YinJi Hell was untitled. Another example: The South Pole Star King once followed the guanyin bodhisattva's instructions and specially sent Tang Monk and Man Tang Jiao.
Therefore, it can be seen that the death of the Dragon King of Jinghe and the birth of the Tang monk are all operations behind Guanyin or Rulai, all of which are to promote the Dharma, and Li Shimin has been added to the YangShou for 20 years because of his strong cooperation.
