Gregory Yefimovich Rasputin was a scoundrel in his youth, known to his fellow villagers as "Rasputin", which means "lascivious and debauchery". However, he was transformed into a man of religion, a "prophet" and a "man of God", and from then on he went in and out of the homes of the rich and noble and defrauded him of money. For a person like Rasputin to become famous, he needs to be a side-door of prophecy and medical skills.
Curiously, however, many of his witchcraft and prophecies were later confirmed, and his understanding was enigmatic. Famous anecdotes about him included the cure of the crown prince's illness and the prediction of the fall of the Tsarist regime after his death, and he became famous.
On 29 December 1916 (16 December in the Russian calendar), Prince Yusupov, Archduke Dmitry Pavlovich Romanov, a member of the royal family, Prischikovich, a right-wing member of the Russian Duma, Yusupov's close friend, Captain Suhokkin, and a doctor set a trap at Yusupov Palace in Petrograd. Yusupov used his wife Irina as bait (yusupov, who is said to be gay, used him as bait) to lure Rasputin to eat 8 cakes mixed with potassium cyanide and drink a bottle of Madeira with potassium cyanide, but Rasputin did not respond.
So Yusupov fired a shot at Rasputin, piercing the lobes of his lungs, hitting his heart and leaving him in the liver. When the crowd thought he was dead and was about to dispose of the body, Rasputin suddenly woke up, grabbed Yusupov by the throat, said, "Felix, Felix, hang you tomorrow," and then broke free of the uniforms of the people and ran to the courtyard of Yusupov Palace. Puliskovich chased him out of the house and fired three shots at Rasputin, the last of which hit him in the head.
The conspirators dragged him into the house, Rasputin woke up again, and Yusupov slammed his temple with a dumbbell, knocking him unconscious again. Rasputin was eventually thrown into an ice cave in the Neva River, where his body was found the next day. The forensic autopsy turned out he had drowned, and Rasputin's lungs were full of water. If it was a corpse thrown into the river, there would be no such water in his lungs. Rasputin survived for 8 minutes in the ice water beneath the ice.
