On the afternoon of August 8, the reporter learned from the Environmental Protection Bureau of Yishui County, Shandong Province: Shandong Kunda Biological Company, the main manufacturer of potassium sorbate in China, has stopped production for technical transformation since July. Zhejiang Wanglong Group, the largest potassium sorbate manufacturer in China, is also suspended for suspected wastewater discharge penalties.

Potassium sorbate is a food preservative, the downstream demand is stable, the annual growth rate is about 5%, China is the largest producer, the actual output of about 80,000 tons, accounting for about 90% of the total global output; the main domestic manufacturers are acetylation shares (603968, diagnosis stocks), Ningbo Wanglong, Shandong Kunda, etc., the industry concentration is high.

On July 14, the environmental protection department publicly replied to the reported smoke pollution problem of Shandong Kunda Biological Company, and the current technological transformation of the company is expected to be completed as soon as the end of September. The company's potassium sorbate production capacity is about 20,000 tons, accounting for about 18% of the country's total production capacity.

On July 21, the Environmental Protection Bureau of Yuyao City, Zhejiang Province, punished Wanglong Group for suspected wastewater discharge exceeding the standard, the largest manufacturer of potassium sorbate in China, with a production capacity of 50,000 tons, which is also currently in suspension of production, accounting for more than half of its production capacity. Affected by these capacity suspensions, last week, the price of potassium sorbate rose slightly by 500 yuan per ton, and the industry expects that there will be a continuous upward trend with a large number of production capacity shutdowns.

At present, the non-environmental protection issues are not involved in the acetate shares, which have a production capacity of about 38,000 tons, which will benefit from the suspension of production in the same industry. (Gu Huizhong)
