On October 21, the second meeting of the first board of directors of Nanjing Center for Applied Mathematics was held in the park, and Yau Chengtong, winner of the Fields Medal, academician of the National Academy of Sciences, foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and tenured professor of Harvard University, Wu Gang, vice president of Southeast University, and Fan Xiangqian, director of the management committee of The Kirin Science and Technology Innovation Park, attended the meeting. Southeast University, Qilin Science and Technology Innovation Park Management Committee and Nanjing Center for Applied Mathematics attended the meeting.
The meeting determined the change of the members of the first board of directors of the Nanjing Center for Applied Mathematics, listened to the work report of the center from 2020 to 2021, and deliberated on relevant topics. The Council fully affirmed the Center's active participation in the declaration of national key research and development projects, the development of high-level academic research, the exploration of interdisciplinary integration, and the creation of a talent training platform.

In order to promote the docking and integration of mathematics, engineering and industrial applications, in December 2019, the Nanjing Applied Mathematics Center, led by the well-known Chinese mathematician Qiu Chengtong, nanjing Qilin Science and Technology Innovation Park and Southeast University, was officially signed. In August 2020, the Nanjing Center for Applied Mathematics was officially opened. Over the past year, the center has adhered to the innovation-driven and leading the future as the main axis, with international integration, science and engineering integration and intersection as the main line, exploring major cutting-edge technology directions, creating a high-level talent team, actively declaring a number of major national projects, and successfully applying for a number of intellectual property patents with high gold content.
By building a communication platform between mathematical sciences and application fields, the center continues to strengthen the cooperation and exchange between mathematicians and scientists and entrepreneurs in other fields, focusing on mathematical models, biomedical imaging, artificial intelligence, big data analysis and other fields of knowledge innovation and industrialization development that are closely related to major national scientific and technological tasks and major projects, and actively solves mathematical problems in the major needs of enterprise development. Up to now, the center has published 24 papers in international first-class academic journals, obtained 1 national invention patent, won 2 provincial scientific and technological personnel awards, 1 first prize for scientific and technological progress of the Chinese Society of Automation, and 1 gold medal of the International Invention Exhibition.
