Froepel was a famous German educator and founder of kindergartens in the first half of the 19th century. He is the founder of modern preschool education theory, which has had an important impact on the development of early childhood education in the West and even on the development of early childhood education in the whole world.

Frobels visited Pestalozzi twice and inherited and developed Pestalozzi's educational ideas. In 1837 he founded a new type of early childhood education institution in Brandenburg, near Kelchau in the Thuringian region of Germany, which was officially named "Kindergarten" in 1840.

In a nutshell, Froebel's educational ideas include:

First: Education should conform to human nature and needs, and education should also respect the individual differences of each child. In Froebel's view, if the child is respected in all aspects, he will show his truest state.

Second, according to the characteristics of human physical and mental development, Froebel roughly divides human education into four stages: infant, toddler, juvenile and juvenile. These phases are a continuously progressive, closely linked unity, with each subsequent phase building on the previous one and constantly moving forward. Children have goals to achieve at each stage, but the kind of leapfrog development that exceeds the goals of the child's stage will bring great damage to the healthy growth of children.

Third, childhood is a very important stage in the development of children, because this stage is constantly absorbing things from the outside, and the root of the whole future life of the person is in this stage of life. Family life is the foundation of a child's development, and family activities can promote the full development of a child. Parents should let their children participate in certain family labor, cultivate their labor habits and life skills from an early age, and exercise and improve their various abilities.

Fourth, Froebel proposed several things that children should learn—language, art, nature. Language is the basis for children to learn all kinds of knowledge, is their means of recording ideas and expressing thoughts; art can express children's hearts and help children develop imagination and creativity; children understand the infinite, diverse and unified nature of nature by observing nature and human life, and understand the relationship between life, man and nature. Among them, mathematics occupies an extremely important position in the teaching of nature, it is a ladder for people to understand nature, and with this ladder, children can recognize the internal relationship between the various phenomena in nature.

Fifth, play is the spontaneous expression of children's inner essence outwards, children's lives are inseparable from games, it gives children joy, freedom, satisfaction and so on. In play, children are most able to show creativity and initiative. At the same time, games can increase children's physique, develop children's intelligence, and cultivate children's social communication skills.

From the perspective of the development of education in various countries in the world, the kindergarten model founded by Froebel is still widely adopted, and the theories and methods of kindergarten education he founded still have great reference value for educators today. More importantly, as the founder of kindergarten, his love for children and the cause of kindergarten will always be praised by the world.

The direction of education is happiness, and happy learning is more efficient!
