On August 19th, the inaugural meeting of the Yunnan Alumni Association of Central China Normal University and the Yunnan Education Summit Forum of Central China Normal University were successfully held in Kunming. In addition to the alumni of Central China Normal University in Yunnan, members of the Yunnan Alumni Association of 34 institutions, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Chinese Min University, Fudan University, Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Tianjin University, Nankai University and Sun Yat-sen University, also actively participated in the conference. The conference received a warm response and received widespread attention from all walks of life in Yunnan.

Central China Normal University and Yunnan are inextricably linked
Central China Normal University was founded in 1951 on the basis of the University Department of Wenhua College founded in 1903 (wenhua college founded in 1871 and renamed Huazhong University in 1924), Chung Hua University founded in 1912, and the School of Education of Zhongyuan University founded in 1949. In 1952, it was reorganized into Huazhong Higher Normal School, in 1953 it was named Huazhong Normal University, and in 1985 it was renamed Huazhong Normal University. On November 20 of the same year, Comrade Deng Xiaoping was invited to write the name of "Central China Normal University" for the school.
Central China Normal University and Yunnan have an indissoluble relationship. In 1937, the Anti-Japanese War broke out, the situation in Wuhan was grim, and the following year, the school moved westward, which lasted more than a month and a journey of more than 1,000 miles, and opened in Guilin in late September. Due to frequent Japanese bombing, the provisional executive committee of the school decided to relocate again. On February 27, 1939, all the teachers and students arrived in Kunming and then transferred to Dali Xizhou. On May 1 of that year, Huazhong University began a new semester in Xizhou. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the Provisional Executive Committee decided to return to Wuchang. On April 17, 1946, teachers and students of Huazhong University, led by Luo Chuanfang and Huang Pu, left Xizhou and returned to Wuchang.
In the eight years since the school moved west, the teachers and students of Huazhong University have not only forged a deep friendship with the people of Xizhou in the war-torn years, but also made outstanding achievements with the spirit of living in poverty and enjoying education, rigorous study, and unremitting self-improvement, and together with the local people, they have made great contributions to saving China's higher education cause, local cultural education, and social undertakings.
In the course of running schools for more than a century, the school has been in the midst of the ups and downs of the times, was reborn in the transmutation of history, advanced in the twists and turns after the founding of the People's Republic of China, developed in the reform of the new period, and now it is leaping forward in the realization of the transformation of the new century. The history and glory of Central China Normal University reflect the tortuous and brilliant development process of Modern and Contemporary Higher Education in China from one side.
