On October 16, On October 16, The East Ring Road of Longchang City, Neijiang, the site of the Southwest China International Textile City Project, workers were decorating the façade, and the first phase of the project was being completed, and the original gray concrete façade was covered with more and more smooth tiles.
The platform of Southwest International Textile City is an important point for Longchang to build the fourth pole of China's textile. Based on Longchang's long-standing xiabu textile culture and taking the project as an opportunity to expand the market at home and abroad, Longchang is promoting the light textile industry to a new level.
Replacement
The upgrading of the textile trading market has cracked the bottleneck of development
"Many of the quilts you sell on various e-commerce platforms are actually produced in Longchang." Liu Yong, president of Longchang Textile Processing Industry Association, introduced that Longchang has been a domestic home textile production, processing and sales distribution center since ancient times. Dating back to the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Longchang's local linen industry has been initially formed, since the 1970s with the popularity of chemical fiber products, Longchang local textile enterprises collectively transformed to chemical fiber home textiles, in the 90s in the traffic road and Xinhua Street formed two major chemical fiber markets.
At present, the annual transaction volume of the two major markets has reached 2 billion yuan, about 100,000 Longchang people are engaged in the light textile industry, of which 50,000 are engaged in local employment, and another 50,000 Longchang people are engaged in textile production, processing, sales, logistics and other work in Chengdu, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Kunming and other places.
However, after thirty years of development, the urban chemical fiber market has brought many inconveniences to merchants and customers due to small warehouse space, imperfect fire fighting facilities, parking congestion and other issues, and the situation of "large industry and small market" cannot keep up with the development needs and urgently needs transformation and upgrading. To this end, merchants in the two major markets have formed a consortium to invest in the development of Southwest China International Textile City - which is a commercial platform for unified development, unified management and unified promotion, and undertakes the overall relocation of the Longchang chemical fiber market.
The southwest China International Textile City project covers a total area of 260 acres, with a planned total construction area of 180,000 square meters and a total investment of 1 billion yuan. It is divided into three phases, and the trading market area of the first phase of the commercial circulation area is about 25,000 square meters. After the completion of the trading market, it can accommodate 1,200 core merchants to enter the operation, and after the overall operation is mature, the annual transaction scale is expected to exceed 20 billion yuan, directly and indirectly driving the employment of 100,000 people.
The first phase of the project is scheduled to be put into trial operation at the end of 2021. "Through the form of 'cages do not change birds', hundreds of merchants in the original market have signed contracts, and nearly 300 merchants from Chengdu, Kunming and other places across the country have signed up to settle in, and the investment progress of Textile City is smooth." According to the relevant person in charge of the project, the project is committed to building the fourth pole of China's textile after Zhejiang Keqiao China Textile City, Jiangsu Nantong Dieshiqiao Home Textile City, and Guangzhou International Textile City.
Fill in the gaps
Innovative business vision to the outside world so that "the world covers the Longchang quilt"
New trading spaces have emerged, and new industrial forms are also being cultivated. According to the plan, the Southwest China International Textile City project will rely on the offline physical market to focus on the development of light textile e-commerce formats.
"At present, Longchang has developed more than a dozen pure e-commerce home textile enterprises, one enterprise has exceeded 100 million yuan in transaction volume, and 5 households have reached the level of 50 million yuan." Liu Yong said that the traditional home textile industry has been squeezed and impacted by e-commerce, and the transformation to online e-commerce on the one hand actively embraces the industry trend, and can also open up greater development space for enterprises.
Production and processing is the foundation of the textile industry. In this field, Longchang home textile enterprises as a whole present a "small and scattered" situation, mainly small enterprises rent factory processing and family workshop processing. "This year, there is a foreign trade enterprise from Zhejiang to investigate, but also because Longchang lacks standardized processing capabilities and special sites to undertake orders, failed to retain the orders of this enterprise." Liu Yong introduced.
The shortcomings need to be filled urgently, and the first phase of the project is expected to be put into trial operation at the end of 2021, followed by the construction of cross-border e-commerce and warehousing logistics area and processing research and development headquarters area. The processing research and development zone will build standardized factories, build intelligent production lines, improve the production efficiency and quality of Longchang textile, and strive to start construction in 2022, so as to lay a solid manufacturing foundation for the Longchang textile industry.
At the same time, Longchang will also promote local textile enterprises to become bigger and stronger, through the integration of small and medium-sized enterprises and other ways to cultivate a number of leading enterprises, with leading enterprises as the guide to build Longchang textile brand, improve the status quo of light textile enterprises "small and scattered".
The front of the textile city is crowned with the word "international", highlighting the outward thinking of the development of longchang textile industry. Since the beginning of this year, Longchang light textile products have shined. In June, Southwest International Textile City exported 250,000 yuan worth of baby and child products to the United States through market procurement, becoming the first order to participate in the market procurement trade in Sichuan cities and states outside Chengdu; in July, Longchang textile products were exported to European countries through the China-Europe express train; in September, Longchang textile products participated in the 2021 Western China Cross-border E-commerce Expo, achieving 17 transactions and 3 agreement intentions.
At present, Longchang textile products have been sold to the United States, Brazil, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and other countries through cross-border e-commerce and market procurement trade. Next, Longchang will further promote the export of textile products to the sea and enhance the international popularity of Longchang textile brand.
