Yu Lihua is gone. I can't believe it! She is so tenacious, she is positive and cheerful, she loves sports, she is enthusiastic, although she is 89 years old, but for her, she is still young! According to Ling Yao's little sister, she was infected by the nanny at home during the new crown pneumonia, which is really sad! In recent days, the Internet has been full of information, and the Chinese literary circles at home and abroad are mourning Yu Lihua. After Yu Lihua's death, his charm did not diminish. In my opinion, there are at least two major reasons: one is her unquestionable and irreplaceable literary achievements; the other is her precious personality credibility and human affinity.
Yu Lihua has entered history. In fact, history has also given her an objective and fair evaluation: "the originator, founder, and first person of international student literature" and "the spokesperson of the rootless generation". Xia Zhiqing called her "the rarest and most exquisite stylist", "the most persevering, dedicated to their own artistic progress, want to leave a few works for today's literary world that are worth reading for future generations, I know two: Yu Lihua and Bai Xianyong." "Bai Xianyong said", in terms of comprehensively depicting the life of Chinese intellectuals in the United States, no Taiwanese writer can compare with Li Hua. She writes diligently and has a wealth of masterpieces, which can be described as "writing all the sorrows and joys of the world". His creative content mainly describes the life of the mainland and Taiwan and the life of international students. Her journey from "Dream Back to Qinghe" to "See the Palm Again, See the Palm Again" and then to "The Children of the Fu Family" shows her journey from a rootless generation to an awakened generation, and lays an important position in the history of Chinese literature.
And her personality credibility and affinity for human nature have also been recognized and appreciated by the public. She loves her homeland and the people of her homeland. She said: "I am one of the overseas scholars, A writer, and a patriot who 'lives in the United States, I really care about China.'" She was one of the first writers to return to China, and in 1975 she flew back to Shanghai to visit teachers and students at the Zhenhai Middle School where she had studied, and lingered in front of her family's old house. After returning to the United States, she was determined to do something for her compatriots in her hometown. She insisted on sending her daughter, who was studying at a prestigious American school, to Beijing to enroll in a class, believing that her descendants must have the foundation of traditional Chinese culture; she also served as the director of the International Exchange Office of the State University of New York, and worked hard to establish friendly exchange relations with five Chinese universities, accepting 15 mainland scholars to study in the United States every year. This was the earliest and largest Sino-US university exchange program of the year. For her studies and career, she has a pious professionalism and tenacious indomitable resilience. She said: "Many tastes of life have been tasted. The only thing you can tell, and what you can be happy for me: is that I am not depressed, do not admit defeat, and remain resilient. When she was studying in the Department of Foreign Languages at National Taiwan University, the teacher said that she had a poor foundation in foreign languages and forced her to transfer to the Department of History. However, she studied hard and finally was admitted to the University of California with excellent foreign language results. At The Academy, she won the first place in the MGM Award for "Yangtze River Head" written in English, beating out white students who wrote in their native English. Of course, her literary creation career also has a bad time, she said: "Bottleneck phenomenon often exists, sometimes can not pause for a while, do not write do not want to, close the door." At the same time, read more books, and definitely do not miss the opportunity to travel. Wen Wei Po commented that she was "by no means passive but entirely active in battle, and had the courage to charge." Now, with her rich and immortal literary works, full of love, integrity, and kindness, she has drawn a perfect end to her life. People respect her and miss her!
What I remember most was the turn of spring and summer in the last year of the last year of the last century, when we accompanied Lihua on our trip to Lushan. In 1999, we cooperated with Baihuazhou Literature and Art Publishing House to compile a five-volume series of "Biographies of World-Famous Chinese Female Writers". Of course, there is a biography of Yu Lihua. In this way, we have many and many repeated contacts with her. In a small talk on the phone, she revealed that she had traveled almost all over the world's famous mountains, but she had never been to Lushan. I took these words to heart, that is, I discussed with schools, publishing houses, newspapers, and television stations, and everyone unanimously invited her to visit and visit Lushan. We would also like to take this opportunity to invite her to give a lecture to the students, and our Chinese literature class has a chapter for her.
It is also a beautiful day, those days Nanchang and Lushan are sunny and cloudy. At 5 p.m. that day, we rushed to the airport and the plane arrived on time. The first to come out was Yu Lihua. She wears shorts and trousers, petite figure, and straightens the body. Behind her was her husband, Oliven, the president of the State University of New York at Auburny, a disabled man with a right leg that resembled a prosthetic leg, assisted by two canes. A young man next to him helped and put him in a wheelchair. The young man was from the Foreign Affairs Office of Fudan University, a master's student of Oliven, named Chen Yinzhang, who had come to accompany them. We got on the bus smoothly and went straight to the Five Lakes Hotel in Qingshan Lake. Along the way, Yu Lihua looked left and right, asked east and west, talked and laughed, and was very active and cheerful. To the Five Lakes, Mr. and Mrs. Yu Lihua arranged in Suite 1316, facing southeast. Yu Lihua opened the curtains, saw the water sparkling around him, the sky was colorful, and suddenly jumped up and shouted: "Come and see!" We're in the middle of the water, it's so nice! "She was innocent and innocent like a child."
The next morning, we left at nearly 9 a.m. Along the way, I mainly introduced the historical changes and cultural landscapes of Lushan Mountain, as well as some legends and interesting facts. Yu Lihua was very interested in listening, and from time to time he liked to ask questions. I basically survived the "exam" because I went up the mountain at least 20 times and participated in the writing of several books on the history and literature of Lushan. Between the conversations and laughter, it was soon up the mountain. To save time, we went straight to the east of Han po Kou. Because of the relationship between sunshine, looking at Lushan Mountain is generally to look at the east in the morning and look at the west in the afternoon. The so-called Pokou, that is to say, this mountain pass looks like it contains a Poyang Lake, the mountain contains water, and the scenery is particularly beautiful and spectacular. Yu Lihua seemed to be enchanted, and rushed down towards the big archway building in Han po Kou. Yu Lihua climbed up from the big archway, there were three viewing pavilions in front, and most people only went up to the second pavilion to stop, but she insisted on walking through the three pavilions, overlooking the panoramic view of Pokou, from Wulao Peak to the General Village at the bottom of the mountain. It's really hard for reporters to keep up with her. After that, I went to see the Lushan National Botanical Garden.
After a short break after dinner, we set off to visit the Lushan Building, the Lushan Museum and the Lushan Auditorium. These are all old buildings in the Republic of China period, time is limited, can only go to see the flowers, pass by. After that, I went to see Lulin Villa No. 1 next to the artificial lake in Lushan Mountain, known as Chairman Mao's former residence. In fact, the chairman basically never lived there, but designed and built according to his habits. The yard is not small, a one-color bungalow, the bathroom is extra large, there are bookshelves, you can read. After watching it, we came to visit "Meilu". It was the villa that an Englishman gave to Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling. In the woods on the south side of the courtyard, there is a natural boulder with the inscription "Meilu", which is said to have been inscribed by Song Meiling himself. Now the house number here is called No. 180 Hedong Road. It is the only mansion where the top leaders of both the Kuomintang and the Communist Party have lived. It has three open porches, a large platform, and a balcony of more than ten square meters on the south end of the first floor. The main body is two floors, the upper and lower pattern is the same, there are large living rooms, large bedrooms, wide doors, decorated with floor-to-ceiling glass and wooden grid geometric patterns, appearing noble and spacious. For political reasons, "this small building was pushed into a confused and prominent situation." People also especially admire its green doors, green windows, green corridors, green bars, green columns, and the gray-brown stone wall has also become a green wall due to the entanglement of the climbing tiger. It carried a century of history, until the 1980s, it became a tourist attraction in Lushan open to the public. This beautiful house still displays a large number of historical relics and materials for visitors to read. When Yu Lihua came here, he not only appreciated the scenery of the small buildings here, but also was overwhelmed by those rare historical relics. She put on her reading glasses and went into the pile of old papers, until people reminded her that there was a TV interview below, and then she reluctantly left, still chanting "Worth watching!" Worth a look! ”
On the morning of the third day, the sky was clear. We all got up at 5am. Everyone walked around the lawn of the big tree in the yard, absorbing the fresh air and enjoying the beauty of nature. The car took us to the flower path to get off, and then we were on our own two legs. Yu Lihua shook his head as he walked and recited Bai Juyi's poem: "April in the world is exhausted, and the peach blossoms of the mountain temple begin to bloom." Long hate spring return nowhere to be found, do not know to turn into this. "I solemnly declare to her that the Fairview Valley in front of her is a very steep downhill road, full of stone steps, slippery, very dangerous, and it will take nearly an hour to walk to the Fairy Cave. To consider their physical condition, can not barely get away with it, it is best to take a car directly down to the Immortal Cave. But she did not waver, insisting on going on her own. We had no choice but to accompany her slowly. When we crossed the overpass and turned to the south, the front suddenly opened up and looked thousands of miles. Yu Lihua suddenly couldn't help but shout, "Wow! It's so pretty! "Under the sunlight, the vast green earth shines with golden light, the yangtze river is vast in the distance, and the donglin temple with green and red walls is nearby, surrounded by rice waves and cooking smoke. Yu Lihua looked fascinated and said, "I have never seen such a beautiful scenery in my life after walking through thousands of mountains and rivers. It's not worth it! "Yu Lihua is small and light, and he climbs faster than us, and soon arrives at the Great Heavenly Pool." The ancient pond had dried up, but the Dragon's Head Cliff attracted Yu Lihua's attention. I said that the Dragon's Head Cliff didn't have to go, more than 500 steps up and down, about 25 stories high, and it was steeper and harder to climb, and there was not much to see, just like a dragon head. It is also known as the cliff of sacrifice, and below it is the abyss of the abyss, and many people have lost their feet and sacrificed themselves there! As soon as Yu Lihua heard what he said about the cliff of sacrifice behind him, he was energetic, and he must go down to see what was going on. She is so willful, we can only rely on her. It was hard to get down to the Dragon's Head Cliff, everyone was breathless, but she didn't care, and immediately went to the dragon head, and we hurriedly stopped her" :Danger! Don't go any further! But she was like a generous righteousness, fearlessly step by step to the top of the dragon head, and also put one foot out, looking down with both eyes, and below was the abyss! We were so frightened that we didn't dare to speak out, didn't dare to open our eyes, held our breath, and prayed for God's blessing. And after she had seen enough, she turned around and calmly stepped back, saying, "This place is really a mistake and a thousand years of hatred!" "The deep impression we have left on Us in Lihua will never be forgotten.
Four days in a hurry, tense, warm, honest, and friendly. To this day, Yu Lihua's voice and smile, personality style, from time to time still flash in front of my eyes, I really want to dream back to Lushan, see Lihua again!
