New exhibitions, new books, and new films commemorate the birthday of Master Ma and the Red Line Woman

Yangcheng Evening News all-media reporter Huang Zhouhui, correspondents Huang Fang and Yang Shengxin reported: This year is the year of the end of the Red Line Women's Art Project, and there are a number of achievements in the Guangdong Cantonese opera industry to inherit and carry forward Cantonese opera. Recently, the "Ma HonghuaZhang" commemoration of Ma Hong's art series of activities was held in Guangzhou. The organizers launched 2 exhibitions, 2 sets of new books and 2 films to commemorate the Cantonese opera masters Ma Shizeng and the Red Line Woman in rich forms.

2020 marks the 120th anniversary of the birth of Cantonese opera master Ma Shi Zeng, the 95th anniversary of the birth of Cantonese opera master Hongxinnu, and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Guangzhou Hongdou Cantonese Opera Troupe founded by Hongxinnu. On December 27th, the Red Line Women's Art Research Series "Ma Shi Zeng and the Red Line Woman", "Cantonese Opera Master Ma Shi Zeng Legend", "Drama Must Not Be Spoken to People - Cantonese Opera Master Ma Shi Zeng Drama Life" theme exhibition, "The Light of Cantonese Opera - The 30th Anniversary of the Establishment of Guangzhou Hongdou Cantonese Opera Troupe", sand painting propaganda film "You'ai Road No. 2", documentary "Generation Tianjiao - Red Line Woman" and other projects were launched and released at the "Red Line Women's Former Residence Cultural Salon".

On the same day, Li Ziliu, former mayor of Guangzhou, Chen Jianhua, former director of the Standing Committee of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Congress, Tan Zhixiang, Wu Qianhao, Mao Xiaoyu, experts in Chinese opera research from Beijing, a group of disciples of the Red Line Woman, famous Cantonese opera performance artists Ou Kaiming, Li Junsheng, Su Chunmei, Guo Fengnu, etc., as well as leaders and guests from the cultural and artistic circles gathered at the former residence to witness the launch of the project in front of the osmanthus tree planted by the Red Line Woman herself. They expressed their infinite remembrance and reverence for the ancestors of Cantonese opera, jointly discussed the artistic inheritance and development of the Ma Hong school, and made suggestions for the prosperity and revitalization of the Cause of Cantonese Opera.

According to reports, at the end of 2015, initiated by the family of the red line woman, the then mayor of Guangzhou, Chen Jianhua, approved the launch, and the red line women's art project was officially established, and this year is the end of the year. Over the years, the Redline Women's Art Center has produced a number of documentaries and 14 sets of research books.

As an important part of the series of activities, the organizers held a special evening party of "Eternal Art" to commemorate Cantonese opera masters Ma Shizeng and Red Line Women at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Guangzhou on the evening of December 26. On December 27th, the organizers held a sharing meeting for the creators of the documentary "A Generation of Tianjiao - Red Line Women" at the Qinggong Cinema, and the main creative team shared how this documentary with ten collectives was conceived and born.

Related theme exhibitions and sand painting art films are exhibited and broadcast at the Red Line Women's Art Center and the Red Line Women's Former Residence respectively, and the audience can visit them. The series of activities is guided by Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and Tourism, co-sponsored by Red Line Women's Art Center, Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Theatre and Guangdong Cantonese Opera Promotion Association, and co-organized by Guangdong Cantonese Opera Theatre, Guangdong Prosperity Cantonese Opera Foundation and Guangzhou Revitalization Cantonese Opera Foundation.
