There have been many celebrities in the history of Japan's Sengoku period, but the only people who can really be called military geniuses are Uesugi Kenshin and Takeda Shingen. Some people have speculated that if these two did not appear at the same time, with their ability, they might have unified Japan long ago, and there would be no Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu at all, and the only troublesome thing for these two people may be the "god of the west" Maori Moto.
After Oda Nobunaga's success in Ascending to The Rocks, he occupied the most prosperous and fertile Gyeonggi region, which was powerful, but this also aroused the vigilance of many people, and at the call of the shogun Ashikaga Yoshiaki, several daimyo formed an alliance and surrounded Oda Nobunaga, which was the "Nobunaga Encirclement Network", the main forces of which were Asakura Yoshikei, Asai Nagamasa, the Apostles led by Honganji Temple, the Zaga Party of Kii, the Maori Huiyuan, and the rokkaku and Miyoshi clans, which were swept away by Nobunaga.
These forces almost completely encircled Oda Nobunaga geographically; but these forces were too much to resist, and eventually they were broken one by one by Oda Nobunaga, the Asai family was destroyed, the Asakura family was defeated in the Battle of the Sister River, leaving only Gou to survive, and other forces were also defeated, and even the Hiei Nobunaga Temple in the center of the network was burned by Oda Nobunaga; when Oda Nobunaga was about to win, Takeda Shingen, who had been married and allied with Oda Nobunaga, was invited by Honkanji Temple and Asakura Yoshikei. Break diplomatic relations with Oda Nobunaga and join the Nobunaga siege network.
This Takeda Shingen was much more powerful than those who had been there before him, and at that time, Takeda Shingen and hojo clan were allied, and this Hojo clan was also a very powerful force, and the combined forces of the two attacked, doubling the pressure on Oda Nobunaga. In October 1572, two allied forces of 25,000 men poured into Oda Nobunaga and attacked Mino, Ene, and Mikawa in several ways, while Oda Nobunaga's main forces were all fighting abroad, so the task of defense was entrusted to Oda Nobunaga's most hard-hitting ally, Tokugawa Ieyasu.
However, Tokugawa Ieyasu's total strength at this time was only about 10,000 people, of which only 8,000 were used for the actual decisive battle, excluding the garrison of each branch. In addition, Takeda Shingen's name was out, so initially Oda Nobunaga did not send reinforcements, but wrote a letter advising Tokugawa Ieyasu to abandon the Toe Kingdom and return to the Mikawa Kingdom. However, Tokugawa Ieyasu did not take Oda Nobunaga's advice, nor did he immediately send troops to duel Takeda Shingen. As Takeda Shingen pressed forward, Oda Nobunaga had no choice but to draw three thousand men to the rescue.
Tokugawa Ieyasu was originally prepared to hold Hamamatsu Castle, after all, the defense of the castle was a little easier than the field battle, but he did not expect that Takeda Shingen saw through Tokugawa Ieyasu's small tricks at a glance, and the army did not bother to attack the castle, directly crossing Hamamatsu Castle and marching towards the Mikawa Kingdom; this was dangerous for Tokugawa Ieyasu, if not to fight, it would be equivalent to directly surrendering to the Mikawa Kingdom, and would be cut off from the Oda family and besieged, and then it was almost impossible to win.
As Takeda Shingen's army passed through the Mikatahara Heights northwest of Hamamatsu Castle, Tokugawa Ieyasu decided to take a risky attack in an attempt to sneak up from behind, trying to disrupt the Takeda army's position. Although Tokugawa Ieyasu's back-to-back battle, the posture of attacking the Takeda army with a crane wing formation seemed to be brave, and it did have a certain effect in the early stages, but this had no effect on Takeda Shingen at all, because the offensive was quickly blocked by Takeda Shingen's number one fierce general Takeda Trust, and then counterattacked.
In this battle, Tokugawa Ieyasu only lasted less than two hours, the Tokugawa family was killed and wounded more than 1,600 people, many of his courtiers were killed, and the flat hand Fan Xiu sent by Oda Nobunaga was also killed in this battle, Sakuma Nobumori because he was afraid of Takeda Shingen, so he ran directly ahead of time, it is said that later Oda Nobunaga settled the old account and killed Sakuma Nobumori, one of the charges was "abandoning Ban Shu in disregard". Tokugawa Ieyasu was even more miserable, being pursued and killed by Takeda Shingen's army all the way, and even tried to cut his abdomen at one point, but was stopped by his men.
Fortunately, Tokugawa Ieyasu had many loyal subjects, and these loyalists were really loyal, volunteering to be dead soldiers, pretending to be Tokugawa Ieyasu and fleeing separately with some of the soldiers, distracting Takeda Shingen's pursuers, and eventually allowing Tokugawa Ieyasu to escape the disaster; it is said that after escaping to the old nest, Tokugawa Ieyasu felt that his pants were very uncomfortable to wear on his body, and it was simply unbelievable to see that he had pulled urine and heat into his pants because he was afraid.
Since then, Tokugawa Ieyasu's fear of Takeda Shingen's illness, anyway, no matter what Takeda Shingen is, he is stuck in the castle, resolutely do not fight, in the face of Tokugawa Ieyasu such an "old turtle", Takeda Shingen is helpless, can only be surrounded all the time. I don't know if Tokugawa Ieyasu was lucky or Oda Nobunaga was lucky, but just when Tokugawa Ieyasu couldn't hold on, Takeda Shingen suddenly withdrew. Because Takeda Shingen suddenly fell seriously ill and died shortly after.
No matter what, Tokugawa Ieyasu finally survived, and soon regained the lost land, including the Togae Kingdom; this Oda Nobunaga was also righteous enough for the "buddies", after defeating various strong enemies and becoming the overlord, he immediately waved his troops to avenge the "younger brother" Tokugawa Ieyasu, and in 1582, he led a large army to attack the Takeda clan, without Takeda Shingen's Takeda clan was not vulnerable, it was easily destroyed, Oda Nobunaga waved a big hand, and gave all the takeshi of the Takeda clan to Tokugawa Ieyasu.
