First announced at WWDC 2021, Universal Control is an iPad-Mac linkage feature designed to allow a single mouse, trackpad, and keyboard to be used on multiple Mac and iPad devices, IT House has learned. To date, all versions of macOS Monterey and iPadOS 15 are not available.

New to Continuity, we help users work better across multiple Apple devices:

Universal controls let users switch seamlessly between Mac and iPad with just one mouse and keyboard, without setup. Users can even drag and drop content back and forth between devices, such as using the Apple Pencil to draw a picture on an iPad and then drag and drop a picture onto the Mac's Keynote presentation file.

Apple initially said universal control would be available this fall, possibly alongside initial versions of macOS Monterey and iPadOS 15, but that promise didn't materialize. With the U.S. fall season officially ending on December 21, the feature will obviously be postponed until next year.
