Apple's "Universal Control" feature has once again been postponed, and the official website shows that the feature will not be launched until next spring.
Universal control was first announced at WWDC in June, and on macOS Monterey and iPadOS 15 devices, no setup is required to allow the cursor to span macs and iPads. According to the live demonstration at the time, the cursor on the Mac can be "run" directly to the iPad that is placed next to it. This feature allows users to drag and drop content between two devices at the same time using a set of keyboards, mouse, or trackpad.
Universal controls haven't appeared in macOS or iPadOS yet, and Apple hasn't even provided testing to developers. Apple updated its website in October, saying that the universal control function will be launched "later this fall". Now, the feature has been postponed until next spring.
Apple today unveiled the macOS Monterey 12.1 update, adding shareplay, as well as Apple Music voice control, app privacy reporting, and digital legacy capabilities.
