In Jiaodong villages, there are many names given to topographic orientations or special landmarks.
The so-called "special landmarks" include mountains, rivers, ancient trees and strange stones. In general, the frequency of the first three is relatively high, and the "strange stone" is rare.
Of course, this "less" is only relative. If you look for details, you can find several villages named after it.
When the ancestors named villages after strange stones, they usually referred to their shapes. And those stones that stand tall and resemble statues of human figures are easily associated with "stone people".
Within the scope of Haiyang City, there are two villages named after "Stone People", one is called Shiren Gang and the other is called Shiren Po. The following is a brief introduction for you.
As far as the north-south division is concerned, both villages are located in the southern half of Haiyang City. As far as the east-west division is concerned, the two are one east and one west, Shirenku is located in the west, belonging to Xingcun Town, and Shirenpo is located in the east, which belongs to Haiyang Development Zone.
Relatively speaking, the traffic location of Shirenbo is better, just on Dongfeng Avenue (Haiyang Section of Yanfeng Highway), when going to Fengcheng 10,000 meters of golden beach, it is easy to notice here.
According to the "Jianzhi of Towns and Villages in Haiyang City", the village of Shirenbo has a long and complex history. According to legend, in the seventeenth year of the Yuan Dynasty, the surname Zhang moved from Shanxi Province to build a village. Because there are boulders standing in the south of the village, its shape is like a person, so the name of the village is Shiren North. Later, it was burned by soldiers and the village was in ruins. In the eighth year of Ming Hongwu, the surname cheng moved from Taihe County in Anhui Province to establish a village. Because there are moorlands around the village, it is called Shiren Po Village. Later, Zhang, Li, Jiang, Wang and other surnames moved here one after another. According to statistics in 2002, there are more than 700 households in the village, and there are more than 20 surnames, most of which are surnames.
It is worth mentioning that, according to the village chronicle, Shirenbo often had wars from the Yuan Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty, such as the Red Turban Army, Xu Da's Northern Expedition, the Seven Uprisings in the early Qing Dynasty, and the Twist Army's attack on Jiaodong, all of which had an impact on the village. Therefore, the original "stone man" has long been difficult to trace. However, a statue of a stone man was erected at the entrance of the village, which is also a form of commemoration of the origin of the village.
Similar to Shirenbo, Shirenku is also a village with a large population and a variety of surnames. According to the "Jianzhi of Towns and Villages in Haiyang City", in 2002, there were more than 600 households in the village, including Zhao, Jiang, Xin, Ma, Yin, Qu, Li, Sun, Gao, Lü, Liu, Zhang, Yu, You, etc. 14 surnames, of which zhao surnames are more.
The origin of the name "Stone Man" is also said to be related to the humanoid boulder. During the Ming Xuande period, the ancestors (it is said that the surnames of Jiang and Zhao moved earlier) built the village on a mountain with a huge stone shape that resembled a person, so they ordered the village to be named ShirenJiao.
Where is this boulder located? We did not find out the details. But to the northwest of this village, you can see a hill with a very characteristic shape, which may be related to this.
In the above two villages, we know that the Stone Man Po is earlier, and the Stone Man Gang has only recently passed by once. Although the latter is relatively remote (along the county road from Huangya to Xingcun, the west side over the mountain is the Laiyang boundary), but the rural pastoral style is also more typical.
