On December 17, at the first Dishuihu China RISC-V Industry Forum, Yuan Yongsheng, director and deputy general manager of Shenzhen Apote Microelectronics Co., Ltd. (APTCHIP), introduced the company's 64-bit dual-core universal MCU product "APT32F706" based on RISC-V.

Yuan Yongsheng pointed out that APTCHIP has focused on the national production road since its inception, and the R & D team comes from the complete team of the world's leading companies, and the product research and development experience covers mobile APP, automotive electronics, and general MCU. The company spent 5 years to build a complete, batch-verified, full range of IP libraries. Based on its own IP library, the company continues to develop a series of pure domestic MCUs with fully independent property rights.

Up to now, APTCHIP's RISC-V core MCUs have shipped more than 100 million units in the Chinese market. Yuan Yongsheng said that RISC-V has gone through 30 years of technical mileage of traditional architecture in 10 years, which has also brought great opportunities for downstream development. However, in the general market, RISC-V also faces three major problems, including the lack of friendly development toolchain, imperfect software ecology and no rich chip series selection, which is the problem currently encountered by the majority of developers.

In response to these three major problems, APTCHIP and Pingtou brother have worked together to create a complete tool chain and a complete ecology, in addition, in the entire development tool chain, it also supports the visual UI design interface, which greatly promotes the efficiency of research and development, and creates the ecological standard of "1520", that is, 1 day to get started, 5 days to prototype, 20 days to mass production.

In terms of selection, APTCHIP has created a complete series of independent products, with pins covering 20Pin~ 276Pin, and is expected to release more than 25 series and more than 300 models by next year, covering the fields of consumption, industrial control and vehicle regulations, giving developers a good selection platform.

According to Yuan Yongsheng, the APT32F706 brought by APTCHIP this time is based on the C906 core of Pingtou Brother, with built-in 3D graphics accelerators and analog peripherals that can cover applications in various industries.

In detail, the APT32F706 supports graphics accelerators, has a rich LCD display interface and camera interface, has a large number of communication interfaces, and provides 512Mb/2Gb/4Gb SIP options. Target application markets include smart cockpits, industrial-grade HMI, secure gateways, and smart grids.

Yuan Yongsheng stressed that risc-V currently needs the most important attention to ecological issues, and participating in the early stage is not enough to drive the development of the entire RISC-V market. In the face of this problem, APTCHIP will create more tour activities and developer programs with universities in the future.
